Obama Rejects Torture

Saturday January 10, 2009

President Elect Obama gave the American people an injection of much needed hope for the moral underpinnings of our country at this press conference. It is especially striking in contrast to Dick Cheney

'Under my Administration the United States does not torture, we will abide by the Geneva conventions, we will uphold our highest values and ideals...it is important for us to do that not only because that is who we are but because it will ultimately make us safer."

- Barack Obama

Thank God for moral clarity.  For more information on the religious response to toture, the best resource that I know is the National Religious Campaign Against Torture

Barack H. Obama has "said repeatedly that America doesn't torture".

Now I REALLY can't wait for Inauguration Day (nine days to go)! God bless Obama.
