Big Brother recap, August 24 2011

Warning! Warning! Back door is open, back door is open!

We’re given a quick recap of Jeff’s rise to power and its repercussions on Daniele and her alliance mates who end up on the block, Kalia and Porsche. Daniele is safe for the moment, but the Power of Veto can either secure or jeopardize her safety depending on who wins it. Brendon says if Daniele wins the PoV, his alliance will see Kalia out the door, but if Daniele doesn’t win it, “she’s gone! (cutthroat)”. Daniele knows she can still be back-doored and she “will do everything in her power to prevent that from happening.”

Adam meets Jeff outside for a smoke break. Adam tells him, “I thought you were going to nominate Daniele.” Jeff replies, “I know what’s up.” Adam says that if he wins the Veto competition, “I will let you tell me what you think I should do”. Well, Adam, you’re like the wolf pup who’s just rolling over and letting the leader of the pack assert his dominance. Hmmm, this guy’s lack of game play almost makes you want this guy to Lawon himself (put himself on the block).

Daniele and Porsche are in the kitchen for what appears to be a midnight snack and Rachel walks in. The air just got twenty degrees cooler. Porsche walks out and it’s the two she-cats paw-boxing with words. They talk without even looking at each other, Rachel staring at Daniele’s back turned to her. Then Daniele walks out and joins Porsche outside on the porch. And what do you know, Rachel is the third one out that door going outside and sits down across from them, making a total pest out of herself. Daniele then walks back in the house. Porsche says to Rachel, “You are something else, woman.”

The next morning, Jeff calls for the Veto competition selections. Seven will play, with just one person out, who turns out to be Rachel after Kalia gets to choose the final participant with the house guest’s choice and picking Shelly.

At last, it’s time for Jordan to take off her green dunce costume and she makes a strip show of it in front of the gang outside. “Oogah! Oogah!” Adam loves it. That night, Jeff and Jordan are in bed spying on the kitchen from their CCTV monitor in the HoH room, watching the other house guests go in and out grabbing midnight snacks by the handful. It’s the only TV they can watch. Sorry, no pay-per-views available.

Then and unexpected guest arrives! It’s the return of the Zingbot 3000! Adam is shock and awed. Porsche goes, “Oh, my gawd!” This silly harmless bot cracks some zingers that gets the whole house laughing. Now, it’s obvious that the Zingbot is some dude in a bot costume given some scripted zinger lines to deliver. After passing around zingers for each of the house guests, the Zingbot joins the gang for the PoV competition.

The competition involves the house guests in lab coats taking plastic pieces and putting them on a frame to complete the construction of a robot replica. The pieces have holes and the frame has pegs, so it’s a matter of finding the right pieces with the right hole configurations to fit into the frame pegs. Jeff makes quick work of it and wins the PoV competition. “Now all the power in this House is mine,” Jeff states the obvious fact in the diary room. “With big powers come big responsibilities.”

Afterward, Kalia is with Shelly and says she thinks she’s toast and that Jeff might even pull Porsche off and put Daniele up. Kalia is overrating herself, thinking Jeff would still target her even with Daniele on the block. Jeff and Porsche bump into each other in the kitchen and talk cheerfully a bit. Jeff tells her that they’ll take it from there, even though Jeff kids her, “you don’t talk.” Jeff later meets with Kalia and the conversation isn’t quite as friendly, almost argumentative. It ends friendly enough, though, as Jeff is doing a good job not antagonizing anyone.

Finally, Jeff meets with Daniele and they pretty much tell each other the obvious. Daniele is wearing some kind of black shirt-cloak with silver patterns and a hood over her head, looking something like a enchantress. It remains to be seen whether Jeff makes his magic resistance saving throw against her “charm” spell, straight out of D&D. Daniele says in diary room, that Jeff had said “he will not backdoor me. But if he does, there will be hell to pay.” And she says that with a smile. Watch out!

Now it’s time for Jeff to convene the Veto Meeting. Jeff gives both Porsche and Kalia a chance to say why they should be off the block. Jeff then announces his decision. “I have decided to use the power of veto on Porsche.” So, Porsche is now safe and, as HoH, Jeff is to make a new nomination. “I have decided to nominate Daniele.” Nobody looks surprised. Jeff makes it clear from his speech afterward that Daniele is the target and goes so far as to wave bye-bye to her privately in diary room.

So who will be evicted from the House tomorrow night?

And don’t forget, tomorrow is a Double Eviction episode! So who else will be evicted too?

Stay tuned!
