One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1. She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life. A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight.

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments.
The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others.
Through it, I have seen people reach out

I’ve enjoyed Huckabee’s often self-deprecating humor during the campaign and the SNL bit was funny. But as I watched it felt just slightly creepy.
He seems to be admitting that he really doesn’t have a chance and doesn’t know how to get off the stage, I do hope he will find a way to withdraw with the grace he promises. Otherwise, he could go from funny to sad very quickly.
I thin he is indanger of doing so now.

find a way to withdraw with the grace
He’s already doing it … with grace.

I’m I think he’s stayed on the stage a little too long and has been anything but gracious.

Not watching every move like you, my perspective is “time-lapsed.”

I think at least Texans should have a choice. If GOP does not respect a major portion of its conservative base, and ignores its own rule of delegate count, what kind of credibility does it have? I do not think GOP should be supported at any cost.

In 2000 the race was decided by the time it got to NJ, what choice did I have? Since there is no mathematical way for Huckabee to win, why would he want to play the spoiler? Why force a brokered convention?

The longer he stays in, the more effect he can have on any platform… maybe.
A lot of us paleo-conservatives are having a hard enough time with McCain. Somebody has to keep pressure on or the GOP will just be the Demo-lite party.
I’d love to see McCain debate Huckabee. Of course that isn’t gonna happen.

The myth that it’s a “mathematical impossibility” for Huckabee to win was part of the joke–sure he was caricaturing himself, but others as well–it’s not a mathematical impossibility when one considers all that’s needed is that McCain doesn’t get the 1191 delegates, not that Huckabee does. What’s Huckabee spoiling anyway, it’s not like he’s bashing McCain, he’s out there talking about real issues and proposed solutions.

It is a mathematical impossibility for him to get enough votes to win outright. That is a spoiler role. It may be within the rules but it isn’t going to endear you to the party.
