I know that it may seem weird that a Christian would be so supportive of gun rights. You would think that we would be for gun control because we would want to end the gun violence plaguing our nation. We are for ending the gun violence but we don't believe that we can do so by taking away guns from law abiding citizens. Just look to any nation that's removed guns from the hands of law biding citizens and you will see that they haven't ended gun violence or murder.
I believe that it's the right of each individual to own a gun to protect themselves and I believe that it's in keeping with biblical principles:
ESV Matthew 10:16 "Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. When we were covering the Sermon on the Mount in my Gospels class, the professor mentioned that it was OK to kill someone if you were doing it to protect another but it wasn't OK to kill someone to protect your own life (that puts the value of your life above another). That's why Christians can be soldiers, they are killing to protect the citizens of their country.
It's not Christian to be a pacifist and needlessly risk your life and the life of your family. It's your duty to defend them and protect them from harm. A gun is just a tool to do so.

I think everyone is missing the point of the Second Ammendment here. The purpose of the Second Ammendment is to allow the citizens to defend themselves against a tyrannical government. Hunting and defence from theft, murder or other things are secondary issues. The primary issue is to allow the citizens (non military) to keep the government in check.
They brought their guns for a reason, right?
To hunt, of course, and protect themselves from wild animals.
Do you think that if the natives had come to torture their wives and children, they would have hesitated to protect them?
They took their wives and children into knowing dangerous surroundings. Based on that, I don't think they would have resisted, even for their sake.
It's not Christian to be a pacifist
I am opposed to taking children into hostile missionary territory but I wouldn't label those who decide otherwise "not Christian." Put another way, pacifism is compatible with Christianity: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_nonviolence#Early_Church
"See? You still focus on the McCain and not Obama because you can't say anything against your candidate. You are too much of a political hack to do it."
nope, i'm willing to focus on both of the candidates and discuss their positions, and how they have changed. what i want you to do is list where you have come out against mccain's flip-flops, as you claimed that you do. list obama's as well so that we can discuss them.
i my problems with obama. i disagree with obama's interpretation of the second amendment; i think that he's wrong there. i also wish that he had not voted to give immunity to the telecoms for aiding bush in breaking federal law.

This woman actually understands the Bible upside down. So instead of trusting God to protect you, you think a gun can protect you? I am ashamed that a Christian thinks a gun can protect them and that God wants them to use a gun to protect their family. Aren't you tired of seeing the slaying of innocent victims all across you cities? You may not know it but the people who are advocating gun rights is the powerful gun lobby that has a huge influence over you country. The sell their arms to many in my continent of Africa so they can kill themselve in civil wars. In return they get diamonds, gold and oil. It's rather unfortunate that many American Christians think only about themselves. You are adulterating the gospel.Where have you kept the passage of the gospel that says you should love even your enemies? If you lose your life for Christ you gain it. If you try to protect your life, you lose it.
