One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1. She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life. A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight.
My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments.
The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others.
Through it, I have seen people reach out

Well, makes as much sense as ‘Vote or Die’. So not like the motto was new. Only adapted.
So, you know her personally, and she’s ‘bitter’? Or are you making personality judgments about someone you don’t know?
Probably based on her using ‘whit..’ oops, nope, she didn’t DO that, did she? Did you ever make a retraction about that post?

Maybe Obama’s folks forgot that he isn’t running for President of Zimbabwe.

Is this the difference between the one “l” and the two “l” Michel(l)es?

Yeah and Cindy McCain pretends that she is a homemaker by submitting phony recipes. The McCain institution wants you to think that they’re just normal folks like you.
Nope!
They’re members of the wealthy elite.
Phony McCain recipes and Michelle makeovers seem to be par for the game.

What post? I never said she said it, I said it was a rumor that I didn’t have any basis in fact and was being pushed by a Hillary supporter.
“So, you know her personally, and she’s ‘bitter’?”
You don’t seem to have any problem labeling Republicans you don’t know.
I listened to some of her speeches and she is pretty bitter. Have you listened to her speak?

“Is this the difference between the one “l” and the two “l” Michel(l)es?”
They are just two different spellings of the same name. My name is spelled with one “l” but the most popular spelling is two “l’s.” I don’t know why my mom chose the one “l.” I used to joke that we couldn’t afford the second “l”

I’ve listened to her speak too, and she didn’t sound bitter to me.
I never said a thing about how Cindy McCain speaks. I don’t think I’ve heard her other than some comment she made ABOUT Mrs. Obama.
So, you don’t think that Cindy McCain, an executive for a corporation, and her sudden interest in recipes has ANYTHING to do with wanting to influence her image, do you?

Well, she did to me, thus the “bitter” tag.
“I never said a thing about how Cindy McCain speaks. I don’t think I’ve heard her other than some comment she made ABOUT Mrs. Obama.”
I wasn’t refer to Cindy McCain.

Since we’re talking about a candidate wife, and Cindy McCain is the Republican candidate wife, what other Republican are you talking about?
Oh.. the actual CANDIDATE?
Yeah, be nice to actually talk about them once in a while.

Similar problem here: “economy of letters,” I used to offer whenever anyone thought to supply an “H.”

karen, didn’t you know? we’re not electing presidents, we’re electing first ladies. i can’t wait until we dig into mccain, cindy, and his first wife and the whole sordid affair.
michele, mrs. obama is not becoming a different person, or trying to appear as a different person, she’s just showing herself to the public to dispel your wrong notion of her being bitter and/or unpatriotic. i’ve listened to her speak and – since i never bought into the “first time proud of america” line that the media pushed to sell her as bitter – i think that she seems like a very normal american. i think she is a good leader.
even the right-wingers, laura bush and the view’s elisabeth hasselbeck, understood that.

That’s not even the speech I’m referring to.
Sorry but I know bitter when I hear it. You can say she’s not all you want but I know what I heard.
posted June 25, 2008 at 11:08 pm
honestly, i don’t think you know bitter (you’ve not recognized it before, why should i think you recognize it now?)… i think you’re tone deaf. but giving you the benefit of doubt, which ONE speech are you referring to? do you base your impression of a person on just one speech? that’s pretty shallow of you.
if you post one ignorant opinion, are you ignorant?

Well, since you brought up the wives…… let’s talk about Cindy McCain being addicted to drugs and stealing them from the charity where she worked.
Imagine if Michelle Obama had done that. You think Limbaugh, Coulter, and that bunch would be talking about it ? Oh, only about 24-7…..
And talking about free rides, has anybdy heard even a mention of the Keating Five? The silence is deafening.
By all means, let’s have this discussion. Let’s see who has something to hide.

um, yeah, they have been very critical of mccain for years. that isnt going to change any time soon. right wingers have hated mccain for many reasons, even those from his state (like myself). and we have not forgotten about the keating five situation. but here is the funny part. the dems have already won this election. there are no republicans running any more, because you really cant count mccain as one. but you still hear the dems bitching like this. it actually is a good election year to be on that fence, but the bitter jerks cant see it.
