Obama's presidential seal has been dropped

Tuesday June 24, 2008

Categories: Politics

I knew it! I knew he would drop the seal after his ridiculed by the blogosphere and MSM pundits:

Barack Obama's campaign has canned its use of an emblem that critics had panned as a theft of the official U.S. presidential seal.

[...]

But another campaign source told The Atlantic.com that the campaign decided to stop using the logo because it didn't want to give the press a reason to label Obama arrogant.

Actually that probably should read: "to give the press yet another reason to label Obama arrogant" :-)

What's really amazing about all this is that they didn't realize this before they ripped off the presidential seal.

Find a new derogatory term and the conservative "Christian" Republicans will use it. Dobson's latest is smearing the Democratic contender as a follower of "fruitcake Christianity."

It took our forefathers 300 years to build a good and decent nation. After only thirty years of basically Republican politics, our nation has gone to h**l.

A collapsed financial system.
A jagged, (once level), playing field.\Empty food banks.
A healthcare system which will bankrupt just about all citizens, sooner or later.
An open border policy to obtain cheap labor. (Yes it began, in ernest
during the Reagan years.)
The cost of a three trillion dollar war. (The government could have
bought 300,000,000 Prius's or Honda Hybrids and supplied every citizen
with a fuel efficient car for the cost of Hummer Bush's Iraq war.)
Everyone in a McMansion, but no affordable rental housing for God's poor.
And on and on.

Conservative Christianity's alliance with the Republican Political Machine has given us the most destructive force in American history - at home and abroad.
It is time to return to mainline Christianity with its traditions of 2,000 years of developed reverence, sanity and devotion to Jesus of
Nazareth and his teachings.

That one is just going to have to be filed under, "It seemed like a good idea at the time."

actually, i like this quote:

"The right wing bloggers don't like it but so what? If this is the best they can do against him then he's a more of a shoo-in than I think he is already," Beckel said.

he nailed it.

Obama's spokesman said the notice paid to the seal was a little over the top. "Is this really worthy of this much attention?" he asked.

well, it gives the mcnuggets something to whine about at least.

If it were only the rightwing bloggers that were ridiculing it, then that would be one thing but it's the press that Obama said he's worried about and he's go good reason to, they've had their fun with it as well.

oh yeah, the liberal media. i forgot about them.

check your facts. obama didn't say that he's worried, and it was his campaign that put it out there and also retired it.

and again, "if this is the best they can do..." i suppose he can use the real seal soon enough.

oh, how's your lawsuit against obama for violating the law by ripping off the seal coming along? surely your keen knowledge of what's legal and not will pay off. ;)

to give fair time to mccain, he should stop acting so presidential and stuff. apparently right-wing bloggers and the liberal press get in a snit when presidential candidates do that.
