Even though he got results, this is not the best way to lose weight:

But rather than try conventional diets, which had failed him before, the then 276-pound Coleson opted for his own “realistic” solution in December: he’d only eat at McDonald’s.
After six months on his McDiet, Coleson lost 80 pounds and dropped 14 pants sizes. His waist went from 50-inches to 36.

Coleson said he was able to lose weight by avoiding the fast food restaurant’s extremely popular French fries. He said he never had them once.
“I stayed away from the fries,” he said.
What he did eat were the salads and on occasion he would integrate a hamburger patty on one.

The Virginia man also would eat grilled chicken salads and sandwiches, walnut salads, and apple dippers sans the caramel sauce.

I guess this is the response to Super Size Me 🙂
It’s really not surprising that he could lose weight eating at McDonald’s since he went from 5,000 to 1,400. Just doing that is enough whether you eat in McDonald’s or at home. And there are healthy choices at McDonald’s and other fast food restaurants, just avoiding the fries can be a big calorie saver.
BTW, the author of the Abs Diet is also the author of Eat This, Not That and he was on ET recently comparing foods you should and should not eat at fast food restaurants. You can watch it here.
Check out his worst food list and his comparison of drinks as well. I was surprised by the calorie content of some of the things that we eat when we are out at a restaurant. Like P.F. Chang’s Pork Lo Mein. It has 1,820 calories but at least the four of us split them. And here’s a list of the best foods to get at the supermarket.
