One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1. She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life. A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments.
The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others.
Through it, I have seen people reach out

I think it should be clearly obvious to everyone that Senator Obama will do and say anything he thinks he needs to in order to gain greater political power – just like Senator McCain will. What they’ll do in office is not hard to predict though. Which is why Obama’s supporters mostly shrug at his statements that should drive them batty with rage.

The Democrats have been avoiding gun control like the plague after the 2002 election debacle. And gun control advocates have been pretty quiet ever since they started to wonder when gun owners were going to stop voting and start shooting–them.

chris, the difference is that some of us are grown up enough to realize that we won’t agree with obama 100% of the time, and that’s ok.
“I think it’s clear that the NRA has won this issue.”
what issue, michele? gun control? i guess that you forgot that the nra actually worked with congress to tighten some gun control measures. i guess that you didn’t read the bit by scalia that this court ruling doesn’t undo all gun control measures. i guess that you forgot that liberals are gun owners, too.

Flip flops – 1) pseudo shoes that are bad for your feet; 2) expected behavior in political candidates in an election year; 3)NOT a sin in either case.

I would love to hear the issues on which McCain has never flip-flopped.
Go ahead.
And Obama didn’t flip on this. He just agreed with the Supremes that we have a right to own handguns- but that right is not absolute, either. Scalia even said that there would be restrictions for people who are mentally ill or criminal, and so on.
Once again the repubs prove they have nothing left but snark. They have no record to run on except failure. So they will make this as negative as possible.

It is the joy of every Reformed Christian to witness the killing of those they dislike. No Reformed Christian ever sins by hating the scorned of God who receive the bullets from the guns of the righteous. Even if the Bible were to be construed as condemning blood lust, the elect of God, the Reformed Christian, may gloat in the death of those they do not know, for they are counted as sinless and without blame, as is our hostess Michelle McGinty. Amen.

RE: “It is the joy of every Reformed Christian to…… etc.”
Really? Seriously, do you actually listen to yourself? I really hoping you are being sarcastic or are what amounts to a forum troll simply trying to bait people into a fight. Because the alternative (that you actually feel this way) is a terrifying indictment of the human race.
