McCain's new ad

Oh yes, it's bad, embarrassingly bad, but then LEFTY LIBS have thrown off the shame of their hypocrisy some time ago. But...time does have a way of taking down the facades and if the Axis Media is successful in suckering enough of the citizens, the mess the Obamanation will make will be one they won't be able to clean up for a long, long time.

This is carping, and it is one reason the GOP is losing. People are tired of whining. If McCain wants the attention of the newsies, he needs to get off his a$$ and do something.

The MSM, the evangelicals, and some well intentioned folks ate right outta Bush's hand after 911. Look where that got us.
I don't blame folks for being upset at perceived media bias. But, that bias goes both ways.

hilarious whining from the mccain campaign and conservatives playing the ol' "liberal media" card. they made this mess. they made an issue out of obama having not been to iraq and afghanistan for years. they hyped it up. used it against him. and now they're sorry they did because the press is all over the good and the bad of obama's trip. poor mccain with no cameras. will the tears never cease?

But why shouldn't I post a candidate's ad? Just because they posted it first should I now avoid it?

Not a substantive response. But it wasn't a substantive post or a substantive point. You can do better than this.

Given the dominating presence of Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Fox News, etc. it is time to retire the myth of the "liberal media." And I understand that McCain is way behind, but this kind of attack just sounds shrill and desperate and reminds everyone how much enthusiasm there is for his opponent.

I actually don't think it's that effective as an ad for McCain. Though, I think it's helpful to point out the obvious, that the coverage for Obama is over the top and far from objective. Even Howard Kurtz notes that the coverage of Obama's trip to Iraq is biased. It's obvious to everyone except the most partisan hack. That may be why some of the commenters don't see it.

Michele is out of her league when commenting on politics. She does much better when she talks about how her Reformed Theology informs her views on various issues. She was doing that for a time, and I honestly enjoyed the posts. But that kind of analysis is hard. It's much easier to cut and past from Malkin and others of that ilk and include a snippish sentence or two, throw in a pithy tag, and call it a blog.

It's sad when you compare it to the other blogs that Michele shares space with here on Beliefnet. Wallis, Kuo, and Dreher all offer original opinion and analysis. Seldom do they parrot material posted on other blogs, and when they do they offer substantive input of their own.

Michele, stick to what you are good at. Leave the political commentary to those with enough interest in it to do the work it requires.

isn't foreign policy supposed to be mcnugget's strong suit? one would think he could get these right the first time, and most certainly after the first gaffe.

Given his age, I have to wonder if this isn't just forgetfulness. Could it be that McCain has early stage dementia or alzheimers? We do not need another incapacitated man leading our nation.

Obama, in his memoir, Dreams of My Father, writes of a story in Life magazine that influenced him -- about a black man trying to bleach his skin white. No such article could be found in Life or Ebony. (we'll call that a gaffe to be nice, most people simply call it a LIE)

Last May, he claimed that tornadoes in Kansas killed a whopping 10,000 people: "In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died -- an entire town destroyed." The actual death toll: 12. (Gee folks, The Obamanation doesn't know the difference between 10,000 and 12, you can call this just plain dumb)

Obama went on to tell his audience that the Kennedys — Jack and Bobby — decided to do an airlift. They would bring some young Africans over so that they could be educated and learn all about America. His grandfather heard that call and sent his son, Barack Obama, Sr., to America.The problem with that scenario is that, having been born in August 1961, the future senator was not conceived until sometime in November 1960. So, if his African grandfather heard words that “sent a shout across oceans,” inspiring him to send his goat-herder son to America, it was not Democrat Jack Kennedy he heard, or his brother Bobby, it was Republican President Dwight D. Eisenhower (oops a daisy, more MATH challenges [never mind truth challenges] for The Obamanation)

i agree. obama deliberately lied to make people believe that there israel is israel's best friend (when we all know they are the worst of enemies) and that tornadoes killed 10,000 people in kansas (because, well, it's kansas).

whatever. i suppose if obama was running on the platform of "historical recollection" i might take these gaffes seriously. but, he's not. i suppose that's what makes mccain's errors so relevant (first of all, they're relatively current events and secondly because they're actually very important elements of foreign policy).
