Reformed Chicks Blabbing

So, my grades came in the mail yesterday…

And I was shocked to learn that I had received an A- in both classes! Though, I’m not surprised that I received the A- in Doctrine of God since I got an A- on each of the digests and they counted for half the grade. I am surprised that I received an A- in Old Testament History and Theology 2 since I didn’t do so well in my Hebrew exams and my paper pretty much sucked! Plus I wasn’t really happy with the final.
Thank you very much for all the prayers! I appreciate everyone who prays for me and I was shocked to learn that it’s quite a lot. One of the ladies at church came up to me and told me that she prays for me all the time. It struck me that I must be pretty pathetic that I need that much prayer to do my job :-) but then again, I am Reformed and realize that I can’t do anything apart from the grace of God so it makes sense that there are so many people praying that I will learn a lot from seminary and then use that knowledge to teach others (though, I’m kind of dropping the ball right now on the teaching others).

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight. My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

Well, good for you.
And I’m atheist enough to credit YOU for your hard work and effort in your good grades. *grin*
You don’t think God fixed your grade, do you?

It was very simple. God said to your professors that you should get good grades or else, followed by a large lightning bolt splitting a tree outside.
Seriously, obviously you did better than you thought you did.

Clearly, it is God’s manifest will that Michelle should be adjudged just short of excellence.

Thanks, Karen.

I think God empowers me to do what he as called me to do:
ESV Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
