Taliban warn that "every woman not wearing Hijab would be disfigured with acid"

They are still trying to impose their brand of Islam on the nation:

Tehreek-e-Islami Taliban Pakistan (TITP) has distributed a fifteen-days notice to several "un-Islamic" businesses in Kot Addu to shut down or face dire consequences.

The TTIP wrote threatening letters to owners of CDs shops, Internet cafes and cable service providers urging them to close down their activities.

Similarly, the group warned that women must wear hijab to ensure their safety.

[...]

Acid: The second paragraph said that within five days of the receipt of the letter, every woman not wearing Hijab would be disfigured with acid.

Very soon we would cleanse earth from the traitors of Allah, the third paragraph said.

While we're praying for the Iranian Christians, we should pray for the women in Afghanistan as well, they are a particular target of the Taliban. Pray that the Lord will protect them and that any attempts to disfigure the women will lead to the arrest of Taliban members.

I'm hoping the women will carry guns and shoot any Taliban who come within a hundred feet of them.

I do too. They used to do this sort of thing in other hardline Muslim countries. I've heard of using steel wool to clean makeup off.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a common practice in that region of the world. It happens in India, too, and not only among Muslims.

Young Hindu women who refuse a particular suitor are often disfigured by acid in retaliation. I should add that it is often the case that their families support them in refusing a particular suitor, so it's not simply an attempt at forced marriage. The practice will stop when these societies crack down hard on the perpetrators of these horrific crimes, or when young women start defending themselves with deadly force.

Guy,

I never said that I wasn't offended by the Taliban's horrendous treatment of women. I am, and I will be keeping women (and everybody who is oppressed by the Taliban) in Afghanistan in my thoughts and prayers.

I never said Michele (or anyone else) should not pray for Iranian Chrsitians, but should also pray for every faith group that is persecuted in Iran, including Christians, Jews, Gnostics, and Muslims who aren't sufficiently "Muslim" as determined by Ahmedinejad and his Islamofascist administration.

Yes I am sure that Michele meant by suggesting to pray for the Christians that one SHOULD NOT pray for anyone else and that she needs you to come and tell her WHO SHE should pray for. Yes, no doubt that is what she meant and needed to be told. Good Lord have mercy on your arrogance.
