I had FireFox last year but dropped it because it prevented me from accessing files i needed and kept shutting me down. I'll stick with IE, thank you. I've never had a reason to change.

George Bush thinks the "internets" are a bunch of tubes. And McCain doesn't even know how to use a computer, so I guess both of them are in the clear on this one.

Thanks for the heads up. I will try to fortify my PCs against this. One more reason to use an Apple - but that begins a whole new "theological" path that is a well rutted road.

I hear you jestrfyl! I've used PCs for years, but with problems like this AND the crappy OS updates swarming with bugs...my next desktop will be an Apple.
A laptop is in the very near future, and I'll be visiting my local Apple store for that too.

For the techy types among you there is a way to use Windows and totally eliminate the malware threat while web surfing. You run your favorite OS and browser inside a virtual machine and web browse inside the VM. Any malware you encounter remains trapped inside the VM's guest OS and can't infect the host OS.
There are a number of free VM solutions out there and free OS's to run in them, or you can run Windows on Windows and pay MS an extra license. The truely paranoid restore a pristine copy of their VM just before their web surfing session so they know it's clean.
