Hillary delegate called an "Uncle Tom" by Obama supporter

Monday August 25, 2008

Categories: Politics

Remember this story when Democrats say the Republicans are the ones injecting race into this election:

A black Hillary Clinton delegate on Sunday accused state Senate President Emil Jones of calling her an "Uncle Tom."

Jones -- Barack Obama's political mentor -- denied using the racially loaded slur against Chicago political consultant Delmarie Cobb, but two aldermen who said they witnessed the Saturday night exchange back up Cobb's account.

[...]

"If people are still making digs at the Hillary Clinton people because we supported her, that is not going to bring us on board. It makes us feel as though we're outsiders, and we're Democrats," Cobb said. "The litmus test for being black is [seen as] supporting Barack."

Great way to bring the Clinton supporters into the fold. This should be an interesting convention, don't you think?

This can only mean, anonymous reincarnate, that Blacks will be fighting Blacks at the DNC, and McCain can therefore expect to make big-time inroads into the Black vote.

:-D

i wonder if michele will follow up to see who cobb votes for?

sorry to disappoint all the troubled conservatives out there, but as i observe the convention from denver, there is unity in the party, and not the chaos that derailed the last tectonic shift to the set the country back on the road to progress 40 years ago. the rage of the country rightly stays focused on bush and mccain and the republicans.

I'm sure she'll vote for Obama and not hold the racist comment of his supporter against him.

i'm sure that when the tension of this week is past, cobb will see that it was competitive jest, just as lyle did, as jones meant it. i'm sure that she has suffered worse over things done and said by the "pale and male". ask cobb, michele, if she thinks that jones is a racist.

deputy director of ronald reagan re-elction campaign, lee atwater: "The Democrats have cast their lots with blacks in the South, and for them, there is no turning back. There is no Souther state that Ronald Reagan is incapable of winning."

tricky dick aide, kevin phillips: "The more Negroes who register as Democrats in the South, the sooner the Negrophobe whites will quit the Democrats and become Republicans."

your line of attack here, the earlier bush campaign accusation that mccain had fathered a black baby, along with the racist emails about obama's name and religion, the statements that obama would not be where he is if he were white, these are simply the extension, the next evolution, of the republican "southern strategy" that they still exploit today. and all you idiots out there that believe the republican b.s. are a laughing stock. you're being played for your vote to keep the ruinous republican party in power.

the white male republicans have done nothing to champion civil rights and believe that the capitalist system will correct itself, given enough time, without being forced to do it through legislation. they believe that, eventually, flying the confederate flag or hanging nooses from trees or bosses giving their secretaries a quick ass-slap are expressions of free speech and not intimidation that requires punishment.

that, michele, is why cobb will be voting for the democratic nominee and not the pale male republican.
