If he picks a pro-choice running mate:
Several prominent conservatives, one of whom serves on the board of the Arlington Group, a coalition of social-conservative organizations, and is a delegate to the Republican convention, say that should the Republican platform currently being shaped in Minneapolis and Sen. John McCain’s vice presidential selection not reflect the views of the conservative movement, they will attempt to mount a challenge to McCain’s nomination on the floor of the Republican convention next week.
Maybe he should have kept his mouth shut since there are ways for them to stop this kind of protest:
A floor challenge would require the majority of delegates from a total of six states, one to make a motion to open the floor to a new nomination, and five others to essentially second the motion. But it would also require good timing and some luck. The convention schedule — even when not televised — is tightly filled and heavily scripted, and it isn’t clear that the secretary of the convention would make it easy for such a motion to be placed.
Don’t get too excited, it probably won’t happen. I bet McCain will be picking a pro-life running mate since his trial balloon of Lieberman and Ridge wasn’t well received.

I don’t know, a lot of my conservatives chums have been wondering how much they can trust McCain when Joe Lieberman is always his shadow.
If He is so pro-life, why is he even considering a pro-choice partner and why is he hanging out with Joe?

Well, obviously the trial balloon of Ridge and Lieberman went over like lead. We can’t have but one vice president. McCain must have thought he could have two. But as a Republican, I know in my heart of hearts Our Man will only run with someone, man or woman or else, who supports the right of every American embryo to be born.

the way i heard it, the trial balloon of mccain for president also went over like lead. i mean, isn’t this the guy who lost to bush… twice? and we know how bad that turned out. yet you’re all going to the booth to repeat the same mistake.
i demand a republican vp candidate, neither man nor woman, but else who supports the right of every american toenail to be clipped.

I thought, based on the McCain ads that promoted Senator Clinton, because of her popularity and votes, required Mr. Senile to be both consistent and honorable and make Ron Paul his VP.
Or don’t Christian mavericks do what they demand of others?

By definition, anything John McCain does is the consistent and honorable thing, because John McCain is doing it. Don’t you read this blog regularly?
