More McCain VP speculation

posted by Susan Johnson | 7:45am Friday August 29, 2008

I thought by now someone from the McCain camp would have leaked the VP selection but I guess his people are a little better at keeping a secret :-) Well, here’s an interesting rumor, Palin was flown into Middletown, Ohio which is near the site of McCain’s VP announcement.
If it turns out to be Palin, McCain made a wise choice. She’s conservative, brilliant and will make a good debate partner for Biden. And it doesn’t hurt to have a woman on the ticket now that the Democrats have rejected a woman as their nominee.

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight. My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

“will make a good debate partner for Biden”
i’m guessing that the sexism card will be played against biden more than once. he’ll have to go more carefully when on the attack, or conservatives will accuse him of being the mean old man. of course with mccain’s temperament, he might beat biden to it and yell at his own vp pick and call her the c-word.
this is going to be fun!

It’s sort of funny…it seemed to me that the less the McCain camp actually mentioned race, the more the Obama cried out against the “race card”.
Frankly, from what I’ve seen, Biden’s MO is to fling insults rather than answer a straight question that he doesn’t want to answer.
That makes him a mean old man, no matter who he’s up against.

point out where obama cried out against the race card. list them for us.
come on… you conservatives are used to flinging insults around rather than answering a straight question. you should be appreciative of biden for that. either that, or it’s easier for you to dish it out than eat it. :)
“And it doesn’t hurt to have a woman on the ticket now that the Democrats have rejected a woman as their nominee.”
and that’s hypocritical, since conservatives were attacking dems saying that people favored clinton only because of her gender and obama because of his race. woohoo, this is an interesting year.
i don’t believe that female voters who supported clinton will jump ship and vote for mccain, because i don’t believe that there were more than a few conservative women that were going to vote for clinton because of gender in the first place.
but, i do commend john mccain for the choice – even though it was purely a tactical political choice and not for her qualifications. clearly his hypocrisy will be front and center on attacking obama’s youth and experience.
