Obama’s presidential chair

posted by Susan Johnson | 10:40am Monday August 4, 2008

So, I’m surfing the Internet this morning and I keep seeing links to this story by a CBS blogger that Obama’s chair on his campaign airplane is marked “president” and I thought, “How presumptuous!” But then I checked it out and the sign actually looks like a bumper sticker for his presidency (nicely done, btw), not a presumptuous (even tongue in cheek) grab at a title he doesn’t have yet.
Your campaign contributions at work :-)

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight. My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

McCain has ‘President McCain’ in his ads.
Is THAT presumptuous too?
Oh, sorry, we can’t possibly mention the OTHER candidate in the race as a basis for comparison, or we meet the rebuttal of ‘blah, blah, blah’.
So, you admit it wasn’t even done, but still have to ad something about ‘campaign contributions at work’. Working at what? Putting a bumpersticker on a chair?

The bumper sticker is presumptuous too, as is McCain’s. It started in 2004 with John Kerry’s signs, they didn’t say “for president” they just said “president.” The idea I think is to make people associate the name with the office, but it’s just poorly done in my opinion.

How presumptuous of you to even comment on such a lame blog in the first place, Michelle. Maybe you ought to change your blog from Reformed Chicks Blabbing to Ridiculous Chump Bumbling.
Why don’t you make a Reformist comparison of McCain’s energy plan vs. Obama’s. That would be the real issue right now. Or do you believe that Obama is one of those whom God will not redeem? Ever!

Good ol’ boys like you know EXACTLY what McCain & Michele mean when they call Obama “presumptuous”, right Guy?

You LEFTY NUT CASE LIBS are responsible for the 9/11 CONSPIRACIES, the IRAQ WAR CONSPIRACIES and so on.
And so THE OBAMANATION is criticized for his PRESUMPTUOUS attitude and what do YOU POOR RANTING LEFTY LIBS do? You can’t simply accept the fact that someone is simply CRITICIZING such presumption but it must be from dark, sinister RACIST motives.
Now, SHIP OBAMANATION is sinking as we speak. Instead of crying in your soup, soiling your diaper and ranting on about imaginary racists, go save your Messiah before he is discovered to be the IMPOSTOR he is! NEXT PLEASE!

Once again, grade-school-guy shows that the Repunks have nothing but snark.
It must be frightening for them to realize how many people see through their schtick.
David Gergen did see racism in the ads, and he’s far from liberal.
There is nothing McLame can do that is regarded as presumptouos, but Obama is constantly called on that for doing similiar things. But no bigotry is there! Why ? Because the people who made the ads say so……
and we all know how honest and truthful they are.

Personally, I trust folks who put their money where their vote is, Guy. And the prices in this stock market say it all.
A share of Obama is selling for 58.90, while a share of McCain is going for 37.00.
21 bucks…a nice spread, Guy. Maybe you should pick up 100 shares of Obama. The profits might help you get your Prozac prescription filled.

I never thought anything like that and I find it interesting that you did. When you hear presumptuous you immediately think of that phrase? Well, Michelle is right. David Gergen is liberal, by the standards of the media.
After all, they fired Donohue, whose show had the highest ratings on MSNBC, because he wasn’t sufficiently worshipful of our great leader and teacher Bush. And Limbaugh is on 600 stations, while Air America is on 60. Just imagine if a liberal talker had been caught with a drug addiction – you think something might have been said? With Limbaugh , the story was reported, and then dropped. Nobody was paid to churn that one.
So yes, by the ‘standards’ of the ‘media’ , Gergen is liberal. Translation: He doesn’t spend every minute bashing anybody to the left of Jesse Helms.
Gergen is southern, and he saw it as racist. If you don’t think this stuff is, answer this:
What could McCain do that would be called presumptous?
Because everything Obama has done, McCain has done. Except speak to large crowds.

i doubt you’ll be smiling when you learn to read polls. 5 out of 7 polls have obama in the lead. and when averaged, obama is still in the lead, and has been since a one day blip in early may, when they were tied.
it must frustrate the right that mccain has sunk to character attacks and gutter politics and still can’t close the deal with the public.
