Oh, so now experience is important?

this is rich coming from the party that choose an inexperienced one-term Senator who has spent more time running for the presidency than he has actually serving in the Senate and who has no executive or foreign policy experience.

Campaigning Saturday in Ohio, Obama shied away from directly criticizing the newest addition to the Republican ticket, reflecting a campaign strategy to refrain from direct attacks on Palin. Instead, surrogates went on the offensive against Palin.
“Barack Obama and John McCain had one major test of their judgment” in the campaign, said Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) at an evening rally in Dublin, Ohio. “John McCain chooses someone who is a mayor of a town of 7,000 people, then was elected governor, has been governor of a state for 18 months, a governor of a state that has half the population of Franklin County and yet she is going to be a heartbeat away from president.”
The crowd, which booed at the mention of Palin, began yelling: “No way!”
“No way, no way is right,” Brown said. “On the other hand, in his first exercise of good judgment, Barack Obama chose Joe Biden… John McCain’s 26 years in the U.S. Senate certainly hasn’t helped him build good judgment.”

BTW, you can just see the contempt for small towns in that quote. Nothing like a small town to bring out the Democrat elitism.
All they can do is point to Joe Biden for experience, not Obama. Our experience is on the top where it should be :-) Hmmm…hey, McCain people, that would make a nice tagline for a campaign ad, don’t you think? :-)

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

I don’t see a contempt for small towns there. I’m sure you’d agree that the dynamics of being a mayor of a major city like Chicago or New York are different than being the mayor of a small town in Alaska.
As for the experience issue, over 18 million people weighed the pros and cons of each candidate in the Democratic primary and thought that Barack Obama was the best person for the job. EVEN WITH his short term in the Senate, we’ve heard him speak very publicly on the issues. On the other hand, Sarah Palin has been elected by how many? No one knows where she stands on major foreign policy issues, not even her apparently. Granted, we all have to start somewhere and she might be very good, but I shake my head with this pick. I just don’t get it, and a lot of conservatives (outside of those that like homeschooling and teaching creationism in science class) don’t either.
Chris Wallace interviewed John McCain this morning on Fox News Sunday and when he mentioned that she’d been governor, mayor, and on the city council, John McCain added, “Don’t forget about the PTA.” Seriously????? The PTA prepares you to be president of the United States of America? Why don’t they add the church committees she’s served on?

McCain would be, if he wins, the oldest man ever sworn in for a first term. He has had cancer three times, and melanoma can come back. I know this from personal experience of the last year- melanoma is no joke.
And to reassure us , he picks somebody who has no international experience at all. Somebody who has been governor of the smallest state in population for less than two years.
The two newspapers in Alaska, a Republican state, have both said Palin isn’t ready for this. This is a desperation move, and one that will look worse and worse the more people think about it.
She also has a major potential scandal brewing regarding abuse of power. Well, at least she fits the modern Republicans perfectly in that regard. It’s almost a prerequisite with this bunch.
And now the Republicans, who pretended to be so concerned about Obama’s lack of experience, just showed how much they really care about that.
And regarding the bridge to nowhere, Palin was for that , and even complained when it got cut.
In other words- she was for it before she was against it.

hmmm… i think that with mccain’s past transgressions with women half his age, i don’t think “experience is on the top where it should be” is really the slogan you’d want to go for.
