Wow! Palin is great! I just became a McCain supporter!

I just got done watching the news conference and I was blown away. She lives up to her hype! She was brilliant, articulate, forceful, and made a very good case for McCain. She was so convincing that she convinced me to vote for McCain. I haven't been this excited about the election since Thompson announced his candidacy and look forward to blogging about her in the months to come. And I'm not the only one, my dad and husband have decided to vote for McCain as well. He really pushed us off the fence with this choice and I know that the pro-life community is ecstatic with this choice.

The great thing about Palin is that she's a reformer and compliments that aspect of the McCain candidacy. You could tell that he picked a candidate that complimented his policies, not someone who had to shore up his deficiencies the way that Obama had to with Biden helping him with his foreign policy credentials.

Good going, McCain! The timing of this has pushed Obama out of our mind and got us talking about your campaign and your choice.

BTW, it's about time we had a woman running on the Republican side and I hope she's able to make history and be the first VP elected (and eventually president -- wouldn't that be funny, the Republicans are first a woman president :-)

As to her lack of foreign policy experience:

It is pretty audacious for the Obama campaign to say that Governor Palin is not qualified to be Vice President. She has a record of accomplishment that Senator Obama simply cannot match. Governor Palin has spent her time in office shaking up government in Alaska and actually achieving results -- whether it's taking on corruption, passing ethics reform or stopping wasteful spending and the 'bridge to nowhere.' Senator Obama has spent his time in office running for President.
But she brings much more experience to the table, out of all these guys, she's actually lived in the real world like the rest of us. She brings executive experience and she brings experience with energy.

Update: The Obama campaign's second attempt at a statement was a lot more gracious:

"We send our congratulations to Governor Sarah Palin and her family on her designation as the republican nominee for Vice President. It is yet another encouraging sign that old barriers are falling in our politics. While we obviously have differences over how best to lead this country forward Governor Palin is an admirable person and will add a compelling new voice to this campaign," said Senator Barack Obama and Senator Joe Biden
Updated again: Another example that the left doesn't get it, from Rahm Emanuel:
"After trying to make experience the issue of this campaign, John McCain celebrated his 72nd birthday by appointing a former small town mayor and brand new governor as his vice presidential nominee. Is this really who the Republican Party wants to be one heartbeat away from the presidency? Given Sarah Palin's lack of experience on every front and on nearly every issue, this vice presidential pick doesn't show judgement: it shows political panic."
Why do the Democrats think that we should listen to them when they speak about the lack of experience of our candidate? It didn't bother them to nominate a guy with only two years of experience in the Senate, why should it bother them for us to nominate a woman who has executive experience? Sorry but the Democrats lost the experience card when they nominated Obama (who is the top of their ticket).

Updated yet again: Here's the video of her speech;

Tell me how you were supporting hilary then this pathetic VP. Just to tell you Palin is representing everything Hilary was against just because she has a vagina and she is running a family like you (and probably worse than you). She was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it. She is not a maverick and it makes me sick(and hilary) when you go to McCain for spite. This is going to be one of the worst administrations ever if it can get worse than the last 8 years than America will be too far from saving and this will be the end of democracy if they win in November

Palin is a theocrat, who would like to make the United States a Christian nation, just as GW Bush and other fundamentalists have been trying for years. Whether you are an atheist, a Muslim, or a Christian - this is a bad idea for democracy, built on the separate of church and state.

Palin, in other words, has unpatriotic designs for our nation.

Let's see y'all respond to that!

Why not, let it be a fanatic state so we all can be true holy warriors.. We can elect 8 more years of this beautiful thing we already had based solely on their views of God. We can keep going backwards erasing all man's progress and say that knowledge is evil. It will be a great thing going backwards.. right?

We can teach war even though Jesus taught peace. We can teach hate even though Jesus taught love. I mean Bush and all the other past president's supported opposite views that Jesus had. You people support these war mongers that do not even hold to the message that Christ really wanted to get across to his believers. I mean where in the bible does it preach that wealth is the essence of life. The only thing I can see republicans supporting is pretty much support huge corporations, make the rich richer, encourage investing, not providing for social needs of others, decreasing regulation in business, starting wars, drilling for oil (mostly so they can make money for their buddies in the oil business). I mean does it take a rocket scientist to figure out daddy Bush and baby Bush were pretty much supporting the oil companies. Does it take a rocket scientist to figure out that the republicans have pretty much outright supported the greedy in this country. Oh! wait.. I forgot that is Christian right? Greed.. I mean I can't really figure out where that is in the bible.. Maybe the old testament might have references..

Lets see, we have these republicans sitting there preaching they are the compassionate party with Christian values but could give a hoot less. They don't care about Christian values they care about filling their pockets with more cash and helping their rich buddies out. Let's see, we have Nixon (oh yeah he was great), Reagan (oh yeah Iran-Contra. on and on under handed crap), Bush (Savings and loan scandal.. on and on.. His son Neil Bush was DIRECTLY INVOLVED!!), Bush (Enron deregulation, policy changes, Lies of Iraq war, mortgage frauds on large scale, 9/11 failures to take preventive actions.. liberties attacked.).. Even McCain was part of the Keating five that was considered corrupt during the S&L investigation.. He is liar just like most of the politicians up there in Washington.. I don't care how intelligent people may sound or how clever they may wiggle their way out of lie.. These people are just plain and outright liars.. The only reason McCain created this whole image of being against the whole money machine in Washington was to put a view into peoples head that he is honest McCain against the money of corporate donors.. Right, he is a thief no matter what type of meaningless loop holed legislation he writes..

I mean what exactly do you see in the republicans.. I mean where do they support the little guy.. Oh wait.. they support taking money out of our pockets.. They support taking advantages provided to us for bankruptcy protection, they support large corporations, they support sending our jobs away (giving tax incentives for it).. Oh, and please don't tell me it is because of our horrible educational system because it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work in a call center (SCRIPT READERS!!!)..

WOW, women like you are as gullible and naive as John McCain anticipated. Easily lead, easily duped easily fooled. You are women like you are prime cult material. You lack biblical wisdom and knowledge. Palin is bait and you all fell for it. The gates of hell are wide.
