This is the interview I was looking for when I got distracted by the Campbell Brown interview. Blitzer doesn’t let her get too many points out but she does make a case for why she isn’t worried about the abortion issue. She sounds like a Reagan Democrat (even quotes him as you can see from the title of this post), someone who was raised by parents who taught her that this is a great country where we have the freedom to excel and achieve great success. I believe there are many Regan Democrats like her who won’t support Obama because he doesn’t share their view of America. A view he sneers at:
So there’s enormous cynicism about the possibilities of government, and, and, and rightfully so, because Washington over the last eight years has been in the grips of what George Bush called the ownership society, but, uh, what really translates into the you’re on your, you’re on your own philosophy, you know? If you, uh, lost your job, tough luck. You’re on your own. You don’t have health care? Suck it up. You’re on your own. Born into poverty? Didn’t choose the right parents? Pull yourself up by your bootstraps. You’re on your own. It, it, it, that, uh, we, we’ve become almost numb to this, this accepted wisdom in Washington, uh, and in the White House that, uh, that there’s no role for government to provide people with the ladders, the steps to get into the middle class and stay in the middle class, and, and, and lift up their sights and achieve their dreams. And, and I think there’s something wrong about that. And it turns out that, uh, when we started this campaign, uh, my bet was that the American people did, too, and that if we could tap into that spirit, if we could tap into the sense you have in your gut that we can be doing better than we’re doing right now, that as daunting as it might be, as hard as the status quo might fight against us, that as long as, as, as deeply entrenched as the special interests might be, uh, that this might be one of those turning points, and one of those crossroads, one, one of those forks in the road where we could get America back on, uh, uh, a path that, that inspires us, that excites us.
He doesn’t believe we can pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and need the government to do help us even though he’s living proof that it can be done (he’s made millions without the help of government). He can do it but you’re not able to and this is why the charge of elitism works when it’s leveled at the left. And he’s saying this to a roomful of people who have become millionaires because of the freedom inherent in our system. It’s no wonder that a woman who is married to knight and is a millionaire would look at what this guy says and realize that he’s an elitist and want no part of it.And btw, who really is on their own in this country? How many billions do we spend on social programs? How much of our federal budget goes to prescription drugs (a Bush program, btw), education, healthcare, assistance for food, rent, etc. No one is on their own and Obama knows that.

Oh, Michele! Don’t make me laugh! Incredibly rich LADY Lynn Forester de Rothschild is calling OBAMA an elitist? The kid whose single mom had to go on food stamps while she was putting herself through college and raising him? WHAT AN UTTER CROCK. You and your compatriots are obviously losing it. And by “it” I mean: your grip, your credibility, AND the this election.
Why don’t you just switch the name of your blog to “I’ll Say Anything As Long as It Makes Obama Look Bad” or “I’m Too Trivial to Live”?
And it’s the DENOCRATIC party, please. Unless you want us to start calling you the Republics. But I prefer Republicants.

D-E-M-O-C-R-A-T-I-C. (Your chronic misspelling is contagious.)
First it was:
“Clinton cancels APPERANCE at rally because of Palin”
then “Reid on the current FINICAL crisis” (Finical crisis? an epidemic of picky eaters?)
And today a twofer: “I didn’t leave the DEMCORAT party, the DEMOCART party left me” (Democart??? I bought one of those at a yard sale, I think.)
Are you even paying attention to what you’re writing, or are you in Robot Mode?
On second thought, a robot would probably exercise more critical thinking. And check his apelling.

“News Alert! Some fancy lady named Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild has decided that Barack Obama is an “elitist” and therefore she’s going to endorse John McCain.
Is this the greatest news factoid of all time?
Answer: YES.
It turns out ol’ Lady Lynn Forester der von Rothschild — who “splits her time time between London and New York” — was a major fundraiser for Hillary Clinton. (For some reason, I suddenly feel overwhelming sympathy for Sen. Clinton.)
After Obama beat Clinton in the Democratic primary, Lady de Rothschild was probably like, “Boo-hoo, my candidate lost, waah waah, nothing ever goes my way! Jeeves, please lower me into my diamond bathtub — which is filled with real diamonds — and shampoo my hair with the triple-distilled tears of orphans. Also, I command you to perform a champagne enema on one of my fine Arabian stallions while I liveblog it on my solid gold typepad account. C’est tres magnificique! (sp?)”
In a display of the trenchant policy analysis that has made her famous, Madame Lady Lynn Forest Whittaker de Rothschild von Pooter explained her McCain endorsement by saying of Obama:
“Frankly, I don’t like him.”
(As an Obama supporter, I would humbly request that Ladyboo Lynn de Forester von Chili Con Carne travel around the country, greeting voters and announcing that she doesn’t like Barack Obama. Please don’t forget to wear one of those floofy, flouncey scarves that you can buy at the MoMA store, and also please don’t forget to sneer at everyone. May I also request that you wear all your jewels at once?)
I’m sure Obama will lose a lot of sleep over this. I know he was craving the endorsement. After all, we’re talking about Baroness Lassie Lynn de von Forester d’el der McRothschild von de Beers VIII, the type of lady every American can relate to and wants to be friends with and definitely doesn’t laugh at as soon as she turns her back (to check on her portfolio of private planets she owns).
Maybe now she and Cindy McCain can go shopping together and buy jewels at Cartier and be all like, “Ooh girl, that gem looks so good on your earlobe!” or whatever it is stupid rich old ladies do all day.”

YelladawgNC, your patience and decency is a constant inspiration. Please don’t ever stop. And if you have your own blog, let me know where to find it.

You gotta be kidding me! When are the NOW bunch gonna wake up? Hillary didn’t deserve the thrashing and OBama doesn’t deserve the nomination (that is unless you actually endorse the dumbing down of America). My secret hope was that Senator McCain would, once again, cross party lines and offer the VP spot on the Republican ticket to Hillary! That being mostly out of the question to those that don’t normally think “outside of the box”, Sarah Palin makes perfect sense. Shame on females that can’t support her for what she really is (not what the desperate prime time media is trying to make her out to be).
Conservative Constitutionalist.

I wonder how elitist a person has to be for a Rothschild to call that person an elitist? Since the Rothschild family knows elitism pretty well, perhaps we should take note when they call someone elitist.

Hey, thanks, DC! You just made my day. Or night. Or wee hours.
I’ll think about that blog. Seriously.

The endorsement by Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild will be among McCain’s most valued. Here’s why.
