Check out this new Obama ad, is the pure shock of seeing a victorious John McCain meant to send Obama voters to the poll in fear? How does this ad persuade undecideds? (via)...
The LEFTY LIBS are desperate. Obama is falling in "likely voters" and the expected hold on battle ground states has weakened him terribly. He is now beginning "Operation Desperation".
The fact is, as Zogby pointed out, most of the polls have been skewed along with the Axis Media's favorable reporting for Obama to buttress him because the truth is that in more sophisticated polling from Zogby, even voters by about 15% that currently lean to Obama have indicated they only lean that way but would not vote unless Obama reveals more about himself and his ability to lead. That means they would like to vote for him if they saw more so when polled they will say they favor Obama but when pressed for an actual vote they are indicating that they are quite subject to change and more than likely, unless more is revealed, they would vote for McCain.
The Obamanation is desperate and this is an ad for a desperate Obamanation.

What a petty point to make. The Obama campaign is only inducing the idea of how it would be like with John McCain -- isn't this what they're supposed to do, create a distinction between the two possible realities and how they're candidacy differs from others?
It does not employ Republican tactics of recent, i.e. condition the audience with the idea of War/Terror/National Security or anything that could involve imminent danger. It'd have been very fair for you to point this out had this been the case, as seen previously with the Clinton campaign.

Lefty Libs, Operation Desperation, and Obamanation are all name calling similar to the Hitler comment, and thanks to EG for that brainfart. But the point is you're only calling EG on something you did previously. Total kettle-calling-pot hypocrisy on your part. Myself, I have no problem with the occasional insult or verbal smackdown, as long as its backed up by substantial arguments and done tastefully. So allow me to demonstrate.
First I'll point out that all your initial comments supporting McCain only talked about how he was up in the polls. So McCain's numbers look better. That's no reason to vote for him, unless you are a like a sheep and cast your vote based on herd mentality.
So you basically have the same problem that McCain does; you have no substantial arguments
On Economy
McCain is Pro deregulation. Whoops. Nice timing on that one McCain, now that President Moron has nearly caused the second Great Depression, and McCain Let's file that achievement under super huge, right between his 9/11 and Iraq war failures.
Also pro-Oil, pro-tax cuts for rich and pro-wealthy elitists (read 7 houses, 13 cars).
And anti-Union. Go corporate fascism.
On Foreign Policy
Total Neocon, Bush Clone, and wholly owned subsidiary of the Republican party. Supported and continues to support the idiocy in Iraq, likes to joke about bombing countries, and apparently doesn't know if its proper for the President to meet with a NATO ally. Expect more terrorist attacks at home and Bomb bomb Iran-style foreign aggression abroad. Think of it as a circle of violence and military actions supported by Republicans which, of course, help Republicans to sell their fear-pandering rhetoric.
On Social/Cultural Issues
Voted for Patriot Act. Way to sell out the Constitution, Johnnie.
Anti-Choice. Way to be sexist on pathetic religious grounds. Does your religion tell you that brown-skinned people are inferior to you as well? It does if you're LDS.
Anti-renewable energy voting record.

Against Federal Anti-Poverty and Health care Programs. Way to sell out the American people to aristocracy, Mr. Mcain.

Looks like McCain's drama queen move to "suspend" his campaign, his grandstanding in DC, his lie to David Letterman and his Grumpy Old Man performance in the debate didn't help him in the polls:
Obama Way Ahead In Today's Tracking Polls
By Eric Kleefeld - September 28, 2008, 1:36PM
Here's a wrap-up of the four major national tracking polls for today. With one new day of post-debate data within the three-day tracking polls, Barack Obama's lead is growing.
• Gallup: Obama 50%, McCain 42%, with a ±2% margin of error. Yesterday, Obama was up 49%-44%.
• Rasmussen: Obama 50%, McCain 44%, with a ±2% margin of error, unchanged from yesterday.
• Hotline/Diageo: Obama 47%, McCain 42%, with a ±3.2% margin of error, compared to a 48%-43% Obama lead yesterday.
• Research 2000: Obama 50%, McCain 43%, with a ±3% margin of error. Yesterday, Obama was up 49%-43%.
These numbers entirely span the time since John McCain announced his quasi-suspension of his campaign to deal with the financial crisis, and they include one day of post-debate data. And it looks like that period of time has been very favorable for Barack Obama.

McCain once again proved he is the more unstable of choices for the job of President. He turned to attacking Obama instead of laying out his direct proposals. Obama played it very cool and took the edge. For once a Democrat that doesn't get shaken up by a bullying GOP douchebag. I never voted for Bush and I sure as hell am not voting for McCain. I prefer a young intellectual from accredited schools over an old grumpy war vet that graduated at the bottom of his class.
Foreign policy means nothing if you can't help out your own country first. McCain's only strong point of foreign policy is dwindling, this debate proved it. We wouldn't even be in Iraq now if Bush's cabinet didn't have a bug up their ass and lied to America.
The GOP VP nominee is even more clueless than I had first thought. My mouth was agape in awe the whole time I listened to the interview with Couric. It is even more apparent now the GOP picked Palin solely to win votes. Anyone who sees otherwise is set in their republican ways and is ashamed to admit that the GOP is a flop this year. If they manage to win I don't think I will ever vote again.
I for one would like to see both parties done away with and everyone be an independant. Vote on issues under a secret ballot and end this Dem./Rep. war that has plagued our country for the last 3 decades. We see what it got us.

bush on the constitution: why change it if you can skirt it and why skirt it if you can ignore it?
It's why we don't like Bush.
And frankly, if we slide into a depression, I want a president in office who will support my having the equipment to defend my home and family, rather than one who wants to removed that equipment.
That would be weaponry...the kind that the Constitution allows the American people to have.
This one question (the Constitution): who is more likely to support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America?
Who has a record of voting for (and against) the provisions of the 2nd Amendment? The 1st?
How many rumors have we heard about the McCain camp attempting to restrict ads? Speech? Signage?
Which party favors shutting down oppositional discourse (Hush Rush?)
If there was a valid Constitutional candidate, I'd most likely vote that way. But what I have is a choice between McCain and Obama.
Who do I trust more to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States?
It's not Obama.

Bush, McCain can run. But they cant hide anymore.
What ever congress does to try and fix our stunning economic catastrophe needs to be done very carefully. Congress needs to take their time, and be sure of what they are doing. Whatever is done needs to be sharply focused at helping, and protecting the best interest of the ordinary Americans. In particular the vast American middle class. 700 billion dollars is a lot of the peoples money to spend to bail out a bunch of corrupt Bush loan sharks.
When have you ever known any government plan, or project to only cost what the government said it would. Remember the war in Iraq. Bush and his so-called advisers said it would only cost you about 80 billion dollars. But we now know that the war in Iraq will cost you, and your children, and your grand children over a trillion dollars, and still counting.
So if 80 billion can end up costing you over a trillion dollars. How much could 700 billion end up costing you. Any math wizards out there. I come up with 9 trillion...:-(
My fellow human beings, just as I warned you ahead of this catastrophic economic meltdown, I must now warn you that what is ahead has the potential to be even more catastrophic than what we are going through now. The worlds geopolitical landscape has been booby trapped by the Bush McCain administration and their republican allies in congress. These booby traps are poised to spring at any time.
Fortunately the Worlds Nations have been blessed with many excellent leaders (except the US) who have been careful, wise, strong, and self-restrained in dealing with the provocations, and antagonism's of the Bush, McCain administration.
Barack Obama and the democrats are your best hope now. Tell your family, friends, and everyone you know to support them as best you can, and vote for them like your life, and the lives of your loved ones depends on it. Because it does. You will not survive 4 more years of Bush McCain.

By looking at the polls as they currently stand, my worries do not relate so much to the two individuals at the head of their respective party's tickets (McCain/Obama) so much as they do the 50% (plus) of Americans who are actually poised to vote a Marxist into office this coming November. That is the truly disturbing scenario which is now facing our beloved country. It tells me that those for whom the "dumbing down of America" has been a high priority over the past half-century have succeeded beyond their wildest expectations. Americans, apparently, now no longer know even the most rudimentary aspects of world history over the past 100+ years. Marxism has shown itself time and again to be an anemic form of Communism ... merely the half-way mark on a nation's path to full-blown, government sponsored communism. For a person - man or woman, male or female, black/white/hispanic or asian, young or old - to walk into the voting booth this November and choose a Marxist (who is so deceptively dishonest that he won't even admit to the nation he's a Socialist!) is somewhat akin to that same person being the first to raise their hand when asked "Who'd like to be beaten about the head and shoulders with a stick until dead?" We would (rightly) conclude the pitiable insanity of such a person. In like manner, willingly (even if unwittingly) voting for a clearly committed socialist in light of the fact that we are a republic (which, by the way, for those of you who've never read our founding documents we were created to be!) is to vote for the slow suicide of our country. Even the proposed "bailout" of our country is an absurdly, wrong-headed move which will effectively (and pragmatically) result in our national government having far more control over its citizens than our Constitution ever meant it to have. Give the government the right to hold taxpayers hostage to federally funded bailouts of private sector economic woes and you are setting the course for at least a full century of socialist welfare and warfare which is far more detrimental both to the individual and the family (as well as the corporate expression of the individual, that is, a "national identity") than any (alleged) oppressive forces in a free-market economy. (*Those of us who know our recent history since WWI know what such a fiscal move will mean to the long-term health of our county!). Voting a Socialist into the highest office of this land will undoubtedly spell the death knell for our country as we've known it. Though you may not realize it now, such a vote will instantaneously and effectively neuter our Constitution (undeniably, the best national charter ever written in the history of the world). If you do not trust my word, then at least trust history --- It takes a full generation (at the VERY least) before the working class under a Socialist regime finally wakes up and "gets it" and realizes that under such a regime there is absolutely NO REASON whatsoever for those who were formerly considered the "upper class" or the "rich" (within a free-market economy) to be creative, to put anything back into the system or (dare I say) to perform ANY hard work AT ALL when such hard work is 'rewarded' with government theft of the fruit of their labors; resulting in the forced re-distribution of wealth to the alleged "have-nots." The former "rich" now become what everyone else under socialism becomes --- the pervasive 'poor.' And there will no longer be anyone left to create the jobs which formerly fueled a competitive, free-market economy. Those (few) who remain relatively wealthy under the new socialist regime will have no need (nor desire) to create anything any longer which could feasibly benefit the society as a whole. The 'poor' majority (who will now comprise the only remaining class within socialism) will simply be forced to fight and kill for the little that remains "on the shelves" ---- the meagre fruit of a socialist economy. This will go on for a generation or two (70, maybe 80 years). Government repression will be without mercy. Death rates will rise. Government sponsored 'healthcare' (if one could even call it that) will be a joke as the nation DOESN'T "hear" (remember, under socialism and communism there will no longer be a truly free press!) about the multitudes who will be dying under socialism's failed health care policies. Under a godless, Socialistic "Obamanation" (which will be the result of a Barack Hussein Obama presidency), my children and grandchildren will suffer the same socio-economic and religious woes which have been endured under all Marxist regimes. PLEASE, America ... wake up before November. It's not yet 11/04 and therefore it's not too late to realize what we're about to do ... TO OURSELVES! Obama is undeniably an "obamanation" in the sight of all those who truly love our country and the freedom for which our brave men and women have fought and died since the Revolution. May God have mercy upon the soul of our nation!

Obama is a decent, highly intelligent, thoughtful man who loves his family and his country. We will be lucky to have such a steady hand on the helm to guide us through what will undoubtedly be very rough times, thanks to the criminally incompetent and treasonous Bush Administration, his greedy cronies and the Republicans who controlled Congress for 12 years prior to 2006 and who have wrecked our economy with their stupid insistence that business ought to be allowed to do whatever it wants in pursuit of the almighty dollar.

the difference being that obama has raised $390M during this campaign from millions of individuals. some of those individuals happen to be employed by either freddie mac or fannie mae and have donated to obama to the tune of $122K and to $14K to mccain. not surprising, and not a big deal.
on the other hand, mccain's staff of advisors has 20 people who lobbied directly for the CEOs of the mortgage giants and brought in more than $12 MILLION. we all know how mccain gets his policies by people whispering in his ear.

years of unconscionable war profiteering, exploiting patriotic heroes-some now dead, some now uncontrovertibly maimed

With all due respect, B.F. Sullivan, you're a lunatic.
Get used to it: President Obama. God bless and protect him from the insane hatred of people like you.
oh boy, sullivan... (another) ((white) fascist) pretending {to love) (his) country by (abusing (parentheses)).
the fact is that there is nothing in obama's platform that will make the rich poor and make the poor rich, by any stretch of the rational mind.
your pathetic and deranged drivel is hardly worth the *YAWN* award, but i did get a good laugh to see that there are true chuckleheads like you still trolling about.
"uh...who gets the most money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? (HINT: Dodd and Obama)."
the difference being that obama has raised $390M during this campaign from millions of individuals. some of those individuals happen to be employed by either freddie mac or fannie mae and have donated to obama to the tune of $122K and to $14K to mccain. not surprising, and not a big deal.
on the other hand, mccain's staff of advisors has 20 people who lobbied directly for the CEOs of the mortgage giants and brought in more than $12 MILLION. we all know how mccain gets his policies by people whispering in his ear.
You are right BF, Fascism is a much better option. If you actually "study" American history, Progressives have brought us public education, the end of slavery, the right to unionize, child labor laws, womens, sufferage, civil rights legislation, and oh god, the protection of our elderly from poverty.
Conservatives have brought us Prohibition.
"Conservatives have brought us Prohibition."
Oh and impossibly detrimental , criminal, treasonus partisanism
bogus energy policies-building more nuclear infrastructure such as power plants is unfeasable without massive taxpayer funding-there would be no profit in it without having taxpayers pay for the creation of any nuclear facility
And lets see, stupendous massive bailouts of the rich elite while constantly decrying what are likely socially profitable programs (make no mistake, "socially" is all of us, not just the elite) for us "underadvantaged", including taxpayer supported health programs
years of unconscionable war profiteering, exploiting patriotic heroes-some now dead, some now uncontrovertibly maimed
And: Nixon, Agnew, Reagan, Bush, Cheney, Scalia, Gonzalez, Delay, Abramoff, Hussein, Bin Laden, Ollie North, the Shah, certainly I could go on and on and on and on
Oh, and um lets see pardoning all their friends
