Obama supporter carves a “B” on the face of a McCain supporter

posted by Susan Johnson | 2:29pm Thursday October 23, 2008

I defy the Obamanite commenters to spin this (though I know you will):

Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Diane Richard tells Channel 4 Action News that the victim was robbed at knifepoint on Wednesday night outside of a Citizens Bank near Liberty Avenue and Pearl Street just before 9 p.m.
Richard said the robber took $60 from the woman, then became angry when he saw a McCain bumper sticker on the victim’s car. The attacker then punched and kicked the victim, before using the knife to scratch the letter “B” into her face, Richard said.

Yeah, the rage is on the right, isn’t it?

Here’s the photo
.

BTW, along these lines is this story of someone shooting at a McCain supporter’s house with a pellet gun. Suggestion to the lefties, take your anger out at the ballot box, it’s safer that way.

And of course the second Michele posts a story about a LEFTY LIB violently assaulting someone in the name of Obama…what does the LEFTY LIB do? Lament that such are part of his or her party? No. Agree it is offensive, shameful and a sad part of the Obama supporters? No. Display any grief over such behavior by an Obama supporter? No. They just cry and complain Michele didn’t highlight a story about offenses by McCain supporters while taking Michele to task for reporting this story in the first place and not praying for the woman (I guess Nathan can read minds to and knows whether Michele is praying or not)…but wait…it would be okay to report a story on a McCain offense? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! What shear hypocrisy and duplicity. You nitwit LEFTY LIBS are so screwed up it isn’t funny. In an exclusive interview with 12 News, 58 year-old Nancy Takehara of Chicago says she was going door-to-door when she came across a disgruntled homeowner.
“The next thing I know he’s telling us we’re not his people, we’re probably with ACORN, and he started screaming and raving,” Takehara said. “He grabbed me by the back of the neck. Y’all need to cool down for a bit! Have we become so partisan that we cannot take a second to actually condemn an act of violence? Have we become so partisan that the only violence we see is that done by the “other side”?
First, Michele plays politics with a woman who has been brutally attacked. Then commenters can’t even muster the honesty to say that this was an atrocity, lest it give Michele a political point.
McCain supporters have been attacked, as have Obama supporters. Can either side truly say that they condemn ALL of the attacks, or is it only the opposition that does nasty things?

Why that McCain volunteer’s “mutilation” story smells awfully weird
By Michelle Malkin • October 23, 2008 06:43 PM
Throughout my career, I’ve covered dozens of fake hate crimes — campus hate crime hoaxes, Muslim hate crime hoaxes, fake noose hangings, etc., etc., etc. Most were perpetrated by liberals, but there have been some shameful ones on our side of the aisle as well.
I’ve reported on the great lengths that warped attention-seekers have gone to in perpetrating fake hate crimes, including beating themselves up, carving swastikas on their dorm room doors and walls, locking themselves in bathroom stalls, and burning down their own houses.
Which is why I’m not jumping up and down with outrage over Drudge-promoted story of a McCain volunteer claiming to have been attacked by a black man whom she accused of carving a “B” in her face after spotting her McCain bumper sticker.
She refused medical treatment after reporting the incident to police. Why on earth would she do that?
————
For once I agree with Michelle Malkin…something seems odd here. If in fact the attack and scarring occurred as reported, then I’ll apologize for doubting the woman right along with Malkin. However, if this turns out to be a fake, I’ll expect an apology from the woman…and from our host here at Reformed Chicks Blabbing.

Um, what does the poster mean by suggesting Obama supporters want to “spin this one”? Is that sort of like saying, “Black people like Obama are violent, and someone’s going to try to ‘spin’ things differently?” Think for just a moment about what you’re saying. If a white man attacked a black woman and carved an M on her forehead, would we be saying the man somehow represents McCain?
This is clearly, inadvertent or otherwise, a festering October surprise (which some will want to claim, because in their sick minds it’s ‘whatever works’), and surprise, it happened in a crucial McCain desperatoin state, PA, two weeks before the election, to a passionate McCain supporter who has dedicated her whole life for a year to electing the man. If the situation were reversed, how long do you think it would take for the innuendo about the victim to begin?
But that would be wrong, from Malkin or anyone else. Unless we have evidence to the contrary, the only assumption is that a woman who went to a bad part of town in the dark became a crime victim (we believe rape victims, right?). This story is not “she was attacked by an Obama supporter.” That’s bogus logic. He was a thief with a broad streak of cruelty. Do you really believe Obama would claim such a rotten soul? If you do, check the condition of your own soul.
Oddly for a “Christian” site, too many folks who post here see things through “colored” lenses, but they know it’s shameful so they find ways to slant it differently. Bigotry is not a Christian attitude. You ought to knock it off–I don’t care how much you believe the Republican Party is God’s favorite. Oh come on. All the constant derision of Obama supporters, or liberals is nothing more than Michele presenting herself as morally superior to anyone else.
Just look at this post. She suggests that Obama supporters would automatically try to spin a woman being beaten and attacked. And before this post, she suggested that Obama supporters shot and killed a bear cub, stapled Obama signs to the corpse, then dumped it on a college campus just so they could blame the Republicans.
The way she presents everything, liberals and Democrats are evil thugs who would shoot a bear cub or spin a brutal attack on a woman when she’s at the ATM. I find that insulting condescending. And it’s nothing but a way for her to project her fake moral superiority on everyone else.
Ever notice how Michele conveniently ignores anything negative that the Republicans do? That’s because in her world, they presumably don’t do anything wrong and are completely moral because they’re not Democrats or liberals. It’s all okay if you’re a Republican, but if not, then everything is your fault.

I’m extremely skeptical about this “alleged” attack. And in the meantime, voters in Florida are being forced to stand in line for up to five hours in EARLY VOTING because Republicans passed legislation limiting the hours at polling places to working hours during the week and only eight hours spread over the two-day weekend, forcing senior citizens to stand in the heat and working people to sacrifice nearly an entire day in order to vote early.
And today a Republican spokesperson, in response to a question about Palin’s shopping spree at Neiman’s and Saks on the RNC’s dime, criticized Obama for taking a campaign jet to SEE HIS GRAVELY ILL GRANDMOTHER. Republicans are just plain ugly. And your remark in response to a previous post, MzEllen, putting quotation marks around the “working poor,” calling that term a euphemism (for what, precisely?) is frankly no better. It reminds me of McCain’s sneer at the very mention of allowing abortions “for the health of the mother.” You just don’t get it. You have no idea how you come across or why tactics and attitudes like yours turn people off and make them not want to know you–not even be in the same room.
There is NOTHING Republicans will not politicize. Nothing they will not lie about. Nothing they will not do if they think it will improve their chances of winning an election.
I think it’s poetic justice that Palin is now turning on McCain, basically kicking him in the head with her red stiletto while he’s down, so she can get him out of the way as she starts her run for the 2012 nomination. He wanted a pit bull; I guess he didn’t reckon on her slipping her leash and coming after HIM with her teeth bared and a fresh coat of lipstick.

I’m skeptical that this event happened as reported, but not without any reason at all.
Several years ago down here in Texas an aspiring Republican politician campaigning on a law and order platform was “viciously attacked” and shot by “African-American intruders” at his office. There was a hullabaloo in the papers, and then the politician himself went to jail for false report. It turned he banged his own head on his own furniture and testing for gunpowder residue and the angle of the shot led police to conclude he had shot himself, too.
So do I believe the lady’s story? No. And real muggers (I’ve been mugged myself on my soujourns in the American northeast) don’t usually read bumper stickers. She does has my sympathy for whatever scratched her face, but if she did it herself to stir up anxieties about African-Americans, she is to be pitied for a different reason.
The one thing I feel sure about the stories is, there will be more until the election. Then they will stop.

A Pittsburgh police commander told KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin that Ashley Todd confessed to making up the story & is facing charges
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ? Police sources tell KDKA that a campaign worker has now confessed to making up a story that a mugger attacked her and cut the letter “B” in her face after seeing her McCain bumper sticker.
Ashley Todd, 20, of Texas, initially told police that she was robbed at an ATM in Bloomfield and that the suspect became enraged and started beating her after seeing her GOP sticker on her car.
Police investigating the alleged attack, however, began to notice some inconsistencies in her story and administered a polygraph test.
Authorities, however, declined to release the results of that test.
Investigators did say that they received photos from the ATM machine and “the photographs were verified as not being the victim making the transaction.”
This afternoon, a Pittsburgh police commander told KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin that Todd confessed to making up the story.
The commander added that Todd will face charges; but police have not commented on what those charges will be.
According to police, investigators working on the interview process detected several inconsistencies in Todd’s story that differed from statements made in the original police report.
Pittsburgh Police Public Information Officer Diane Richard released a statement earlier today, saying: “Because of the inconsistencies in her statements, Ms. Todd was asked to submit to a polygraph examination which she agreed to do.”
No photos of Todd are being released by Pittsburgh Police at this time.
The investigation is continuing as officials determine what charges will be filed.

Now the remainder of what I said…and I know this might be beyond your comprehension level but try hon…was metaphorical. I used the literal black eye I speculated the girl gave herself as a metaphor for what will happen to America with MARXISM under The Obamanation.
Okay, all better now hon? See, you don’t have to remain ignorant with someone to guide you out of it. Now get a dictionary and learn what a metaphor is.

Perhaps with fewer caps, absent the maniacal laughter, the constant use of ‘Next Please!’, people might be able to, well, parse what you were writing (I would say ‘make sense’, but.. that would be asking a bit much) a little more easily.
I can disagree with the Marxism, I can disagree with what you think will happen to the country.
But using this incident as an example, the effects wouldn’t be due to an external party.
They would be fake, self inflicted, and a ploy in order to get attention, likely sparked by their self admitted mental illness.
I don’t think you want to be making those kinds of metaphorical connections to the incident.

No, what I’m saying is that it is HIGHLY unlikely this woman was trying to show some sort of metaphor.
She went to the cops. She filed a phony report. She made up a story, kept changing it (Obama wasn’t even mentioned in her first account, just the supposed mugging..).
She never said a thing about Obama, himself, other than the mugger was supposedly trying to make her a ‘Barack Supporter’. Not a word about his policies.
Later, SHE, herself, both admitted it was a hoax, and that she has a mental illness.
But if you want to think this was some sort of performance art piece, feel free.
It isn’t a lack of understanding. It is thinking the very idea is ridiculous.
This was just a cry for attention from someone not even smart enough to know that ATM’s record who takes out money, and when.

Once again, grade school guy proves himself unable to converse on an adult level.
But it’s good that he posts. We need to see the Republican slime machine in its full glory, before the public sends it to the sidelines for good. Perhaps then they will slither under the rock they emerged from for a while.
The people who peddle the Hannity-capped rumors and lies deserve the public humiliation they are about to get.
And the public’s not going to let these cretins near the reins of power for a long time.

i’ve asked this before. Why is this blog STILL under the beliefnet banner??? It’s unseemly. Michelle certainly has the right to express her ideas, her points of view and to editorialize as much as her heart sees fit. But this is a spiritual/religious web site and Michelle purports to be of the Christian persuasion. Why is this GOP mouthpiece allowed to shamelessly shill within this medium?

GOP clerk passes around Obama ‘black Hitler’ claim
4 hours ago
FRANKLIN, Ind. (AP) — A Republican county clerk distributed to two employees an Internet blog posting referring to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama as a “young, black Adolf Hitler.”
Johnson County Clerk Jill Jackson said Friday that she had apologized to the employees. One had complained to police.
The employees, who had voted for Obama in the Democratic primary, discovered the printouts at their desks after returning from Labor Day weekend, sheriff’s Deputy Doug Cox said in a police report made public this week. A surveillance video showed Jackson placing an item on one worker’s desk, he said.

As for Michele retracting anything or apologizing to Obama supporters for being so quick to smear them over this bogus “attack”, I wouldn’t hold your breath. No. It came with more than belief.
It came with a package of assumptions about the man, all Obama supporters, even, once disproved, a rather ludicrous scenario that would excuse the woman and said it was all intended as some kind of ‘metaphor’.
Reporting the story is one thing. The side commentary ABOUT the story, and about posters was quite another.

The “Obamanite spin” would be that you shouldn’t judge a candidate or a campaign by the actions of a loonie.
It’s worth noting that the woman who made the false charge was actually on the McCain campaign, while even her imaginary attacker didn’t claim to be an Obama worker.
Should we now wait for the “McCainiac spin” on how it’s unfair to judge a candidate or campaign on by the actions of a loonie?
Or is that only lame when Obama supprters say it?

Oh, and just in case anyone else is talking about the unlikelihood of her giving herself a black eye.. Here’s the latest news story.
It features her in cuffs, hauled in for filing a false report. What seems to be missing is.. that ‘black eye’.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27350530
I’ve had a black eye before, it takes weeks for all the rainbow (all ugly, for the most part. Goes from black, red and blue, to lovely shades of brown, yellow and green) to disappear.
Seems that bruise had to do more with makeup than any attack.
