One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1. She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life. A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight.
My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments.
The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others.
Through it, I have seen people reach out

i’ll continue to pray for your lost soul, michele.

I’m politically on the left and I’m a Christian, not a nut.
Don’t you think Palin believes in the “End of Days”?

Its hard to debate with someone who wont answer the questions. Gwen Ifill was doomed from the start. Palin came across as a politician and Biden came across as a statesman. I’m a “nutty left wing” Christian who actually reads my Bible and not just the “good parts”.
And as Martin Luther once said, “I’d rather be ruled by a wise Turk than an incompetent Christian.”

Identifying yourself as being politically on the left pretty much shows where your allegiance is…to a party who’s god is their version of social justice, when in the big political scheme of things it benefits the fat cats in office. The dems were the ones that started the whole financial debacle…as the snowball rolled, they continued to deny there was a problem. The Democrat party = the Denial party.

and conservatives and everyone on the right are aligned with lucifer and do not believe in justice. the republican party = the party of lies.
see, gidget, we can do it, too. maybe next time you can bring more legitimate ideas and leave your vile hatred for roughly half of the country behind.

All three were brilliant. I haven’t laughed that hard at an SNL skit in a very long time.

Any guess as to how many times Palin referred to herself or McCain as a “maverick”?
Oops. Turns out there are REAL Mavericks, a Texas family that’s been known for its progressive politics since the 1600′s (that’s right, FOUR CENTURIES of fighting for causes like the rights of indentured servants and against goons like Joe McCarthy.) And their 82-year-old family scion, with the wonderful name of Terrellita, says: “I’m just enraged that McCain calls himself a maverick.”
“Ms. Maverick insists that John McCain, who has voted so often with his party, `is in no way a maverick, in uppercase or lowercase.’
“`It’s just incredible — the nerve! — to suggest that he’s not part of that Republican herd. Every time we hear it, all my children and I and all my family shrink a little and say, ‘Oh, my God, he said it again.’ ”
“`He’s a Republican,’” she said. “`He’s branded.’”
Oh, you betcha! And so is that little heifer of a sidekick.
