Robert Schuller had given his son his ministry but now he has taken it back and no one seems to know why. Did the son stray from his father's teaching in a good way (preaching the gospel?) or in a bad way (further apostasy?), no one knows and neither of them are talking:
The Rev. Robert H. Schuller removed his son Saturday as preacher on the syndicated "Hour of Power" television show less than three years after handing over to him the ministry he began more than 50 years ago.I don't watch the show so I have no idea if he remained faithful to his father's power of positive thinking type preaching or not. Do any of you guys watch the show and know what the son's been up to?Schuller announced the removal of his son, Robert A. Schuller, in a statement read to some 450 Crystal Cathedral congregants by Jim Coleman, the church's president.
"It is no secret to any of you that my son, Robert, and I have been struggling as we each have different ideas as to the direction and the vision for this ministry," his statement read.
"For this lack of shared vision and the jeopardy in which this is placing this entire ministry, it has become necessary for Robert and me to part ways."

I had been missing Robert, Jr. I will not listen to Sheila. Robert Jr. preached the true gospel, not just a positive outlook. He preached about sin, hell and heaven. A positive attitude gets noone to heaven and it will eventually get Hour of Power off the air. If Robert, Sr. feels Robert, Jr. mentioned Jesus too much, then he needs to read his Bible again and fall down on his knees and ask for reconciliation with his son. I could not listen to Robert, Sr. or the Hour of Power if this is really true that he feels this way about his son. No wonder gifts are dwindling. Who would support this program if he feels that way.

Many years ago when Robert Jr., first came to his father's platform I noticed immediately that he emphasized the Gospel and I 'saw' a sort of estrangement between them. It appeared that there was a compromise after that and I think the balance would have worked because the Gospel is a positive message. I have not kept up with the program for many years but noticed lately that the daughter is now preaching. I appreciate the struggle that must have been happening but this ministry was based on a 'positive thinking' type ministry and perhaps
this is what keeps it going as opposed to a strict evangelical message. On the other hand, the ministry may be losing its srength because of the timing and economy and not because of the personalities involved. Each one for his own generation.
I always liked to listen to the son, I found the father old school teaching and those days are past. If you want to reach the younger people ( wish I was in that catagory ) to have to be at a level that relates to them. I think every one should boycott the Crystal Cathedral.
I really miss Robert Jr. I really feel he is a spirit-filled man. It is sad that 2 men such as Robert Sr. and Robert Jr. can't quietly overcome their differences. It is my hope that both men forgive one another and that Robert Jr. comes back to the podium soon.
