A businessman who works in the toy industry lost his job and is almost at the end of his unemployment benefits and not too far from being homeless. He donned a sandwich board advertising his need for work and handed out resumes in Manhattan.
After nine fruitless months of looking for work, Paul Nawrocki turned to a Depression-era tactic to find a job.
Over the past few days the 59-year-old businessman has been walking the sidewalks of midtown Manhattan wearing a suit, a tie, and a large signs that reads, “Almost homeless.”
“My unemployment benefits are going to run out in less than a month. I was getting a little panicked and I didn’t know what to do,” said Nawrocki, who was laid off from his job at a toy company last February.
I’m betting that the job market is going to be so bad when I graduate in the spring that I’ll be forced to do the same thing. Though,I don’t hold out much hope of getting a job. I don’t think too many businesses are looking to hire a middle aged woman with a master’s in art and religion

I wish you the best outcome in finding a job that pays well, and you’re passionate for. And may it come early in your search.

Yes, I have experience in this. I lost a bundle of money, although the nice thing for you, it was on Mexican imports, hand-made furniture from wood from one of Mexico’s very, very few green-managed forests, and in the 1980′s.
I do wish you the best on this. If it’s the baby-related product I think it is, I’ll buy some myself for give-away just to be supportive. (And you thought I was an ogre.)

Oh, gee, I didn’t realize you expected to make an income after earning your degree. Are you serious about that? I always figured mine just might qualify me better for volunteer work.

Hi,
This is my first post here. I was reading this forum for a long time, but now I thought it’s a great time to write something interesting here. When I’ve read this story I couldn’t believe it really happend. Just take a look:
“Miracle! Man plunges from W. Side building, crashes atop of Dodge Charger and lives to tell tale”
You can read more at: http://www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2010/08/31/2010-08-31_miracle_man_plunges_seven_stories_crashes_atop_of_dodge_charger_and_lives_to_tel.html#ixzz0yJTP717I
Amazing story, miracles happen! I don’t believe in faith, but sometimes… who knows? What do you think about that? I must say that I’m shocked.
