This is a group that’s been meeting and praying for awhile in the Castro district of SF. Now, because of Prop. 8, the gays have decided to take out their anger, hatred and frustration on a group of people who were just praying, not protesting or stopping them from doing what they want to do, just praying. Here’s the MSM whitewash of the incident:
In San Francisco’s Castro District, people on both sides of the same-sex marriage controversy confronted each other on Friday night, as police tried to keep the peace. Proposition 8 passed in a close vote and eliminated the right of same-sex couples to marry.Members of the gay community said that almost every Friday night, a Christian group meets at the corner of Castro and 18th Streets. They try to convert gays and lesbians into a straight lifestyle. This Friday night, the message didn’t go over well. Some gays and lesbians reacted by trying to chase the group out of the Castro.”Their rights were respected,” said Joe Schmitz, an opponent of Prop 8. “They got a chance to go ahead and pray on the sidewalk and I had the opportunity to express my freedom of speech which is telling them to get out of my neighborhood.”San Francisco Police officers in riot gear formed a line and escorted the religious group into a van to safely get them out of the area.Members of the gay community insisted that their reaction to the Christian group was spontaneous. “It was not an organized thing. We’re tired of it. It’s not religious. It’s not a racial thing. It’s about hate. We’re trying to send a message across the world that we’re standing up and we don’t want this to go on anymore,” said Adam Quintero.
Here’s reality and here’s video of the incident (after the police arrived):If gays want to act like fascists, they’ll lose any sympathy they may have over this issue. They’re not really helping their cause with these protests and fascist witch hunts and I thought they were getting that. I guess not. Bullying Christians isn’t going to get them anywhere, they’re not easily intimidated. They’ve faced far worse foes than angry gays blowing whistles. One thing is clear from the video, these guys want nothing to do with Christians or our message of redemption in Jesus Christ. That came out loud and clear when one of the fascists yelled that Christians should stay out of their neighborhood. The gospel appears to be collateral damage in this war over state sanctioned marriage.

I think Mussolini would be insulted in your reference to gays being fascists. Fascism has it roots in religion. The Italian right-wing of the Catholic church were the backbone of the fascist movement. If if were not for fascism, there never would have been Italian racial laws. If there wouldn’t have been Christian fascist placing minority families up for a public vote, California would be a much more respectable state.

What is unfortunate is that many gays have been physically attacked over the years and hurt, just because they were homosexual. I’m glad no one was hurt, but I can understand the frustration by the gay group coming upon a group of Christians who are trying to “turn then straight” by praying and accepting JC etc., thus saying that being gay is wrong and “sinful”. (which it isn’t).

I see people voicing anger (attacking would be overstating it; didn’t see fights or anybody getting hurt).Imagine a majority would have voted against muslims practicing islam in the US (not unlikely if we leave that to popular vote) and then you have a couple of christians praying in their neighborhood to convert them to christianity. How do you think that would go?

The spokesperson got that right.

Did you go and read the description of the incident? The video was taken after the police arrived and therefore wouldn’t contain the violence.

A Christian fascist like Michelle calling the gays fascists is ridiculous. Fascism does have its roots in the Christian religion as the devout Christians Adolph Hitler and Benito Mussolini clearly illustrate. I don’t see Michelle complaining about Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist gay bashers. I bet she donates money to those people.

Michelle, read ‘em and weep:
Quotes from Hitler:
Hitler’s speeches and proclamations, even more clearly, reveal his faith and feelings toward a Christianized Germany. Nazism presents an embarrassment to Christianity and demonstrates the danger of their faith So they try to pin him on other theistic views. The following words from Hitler show his disdain for atheism, and pagan cults, and reveal the strength of his Christian feelings:
“National Socialism is not a cult-movement– a movement for worship; it is exclusively a ‘volkic’ political doctrine based upon racial principles. In its purpose there is no mystic cult, only the care and leadership of a people defined by a common blood-relationship… We will not allow mystically- minded occult folk with a passion for exploring the secrets of the world beyond to steal into our Movement. Such folk are not National Socialists, but something else– in any case something which has nothing to do with us. At the head of our programme there stand no secret surmisings but clear-cut perception and straightforward profession of belief. But since we set as the central point of this perception and of this profession of belief the maintenance and hence the security for the future of a being formed by God, we thus serve the maintenance of a divine work and fulfill a divine will– not in the secret twilight of a new house of worship, but openly before the face of the Lord… Our worship is exclusively the cultivation of the natural, and for that reason, because natural, therefore God-willed. Our humility is the unconditional submission before the divine laws of existence so far as they are known to us men.” -Adolf Hitler, in Nuremberg on 6 Sept.1938. [Christians have always accused Hitler of believing in pagan cult mythology. What is written here clearly expresses his stand against cults.]
“We were convinced that the people needs and requires this faith. We have therefore undertaken the fight against the atheistic movement, and that not merely with a few theoretical declarations: we have stamped it out.” -Adolf Hitler, in a speech in Berlin on 24 Oct. 1933 [This statement clearly refutes modern Christians who claim Hitler as favoring atheism. Hitler wanted to form a society in which ALL people worshipped Jesus and considered any questioning of such to be heresy. The Holocaust was like a modern inquisition, killing all who did not accept Jesus. Though more Jews were killed then any other it should be noted that MANY ARYAN pagans and atheists were murdered for their non-belief in Christ.]
Here Hitler uses the Bible and his Christianity in order to attack the Jews and uphold his anti-Semitism:
“My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God’s truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison. To-day, after two thousand years, with deepest emotion I recognize more profoundly than ever before the fact that it was for this that He had to shed His blood upon the Cross. As a Christian I have no duty to allow my self to be cheated, but I have the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice… And if there is anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly it is the distress that daily grows . For as a Christian I have also a duty to my own people.” –Adolf Hitler, in a speech on 12 April 1922 (Norman H. Baynes, ed. The Speeches of Adolf Hitler, April 1922-August 1939, Vol. 1 of 2, pp. 19-20, Oxford University Press, 1942)
“Christianity could not content itself with building up its own altar; it was absolutely forced to undertake the destruction of the heathen altars. Only from this fanatical intolerance could its apodictic faith take form; this intolerance is, in fact, its absolute presupposition.” -Adolf Hitler Mein Kampf (It is quite obvious here that Hitler is referring to destructing the Judaism alters on which Christianity was founded.)
“The personification of the devil as the symbol of all evil assumes the living shape of the Jew.” -Adolf Hitler Mein Kampf (The idea of the devil and the Jew came out of medieval anti-Jewish beliefs based on interpretations from the Bible. Martin Luther, and teachers after him, continued this “tradition” up until the 20th century.)
“With satanic joy in his face, the black-haired Jewish youth lurks in wait for the unsuspecting girl whom he defiles with his blood, thus stealing her from her people.” -Adolf Hitler Mein Kampf (It is common in war for one race to rape another so that they can “defile” the race and assimilate their own. Hitler speaks about this very tactic here.)
“The best characterization is provided by the product of this religious education, the Jew himself. His life is only of this world, and his spirit is inwardly as alien to true Christianity as his nature two thousand years previous was to the great founder of the new doctrine. Of course, the latter made no secret of his attitude toward the Jewish people, and when necessary he even took the whip to drive from the temple of the Lord this adversary of all humanity, who then as always saw in religion nothing but an instrument for his business existence. In return, Christ was nailed to the cross, while our present- day party Christians debase themselves to begging for Jewish votes at elections and later try to arrange political swindles with atheistic Jewish parties– and this against their own nation.”–Adolf Hitler (Mein Kampf)
“…the fall of man in paradise has always been followed by his expulsion.” -Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf (See Genesis Chapter 3 where humankind is cast from Eden for their sins. Hitler compares this to the need to exterminate the Jews for their sin against Christ.)
“Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” –Adolf Hitler (Mein Kampf)
“The anti-Semitism of the new movement [Christian Social movement] was based on religious ideas instead of racial knowledge.” –Adolf Hitler Mein Kampf (This quote is very interesting for it disperses the idea that Hitler raged war due to being an Aryan supremacist. He states quite clearly that he has a problem with Jews for their belief not race. That is why many German Jews died in WW2 regardless of their Aryan nationality.)
“Only in the steady and constant application of force lies the very first prerequisite for success. This persistence, however, can always and only arise from a definite spiritual conviction. Any violence which does not spring from a firm, spiritual base, will be wavering and uncertain.” –Adolf Hitler Mein Kampf (Here Hitler is admitting that his war against the Jews were so successful because of his strong Christian Spirituality.)
Quotes from Other Nazis about Hitler and Religion:
“Around 1937, when Hitler heard that at the instigation of the party and the SS vast numbers of his followers had left the church because it was obstinately opposing his plans, he nevertheless ordered his chief associates, above all Goering and Gobbels, to remain members of the church. He too would remain a member of the Catholic Church, he said, although he had no real attachment to it. And in fact he remained in the church until his suicide.” (Inside the Third Reich by Albert Speer page 95-96)

The term “fascist” is flung around pretty loosely these days. It cheapens discourse and weakens rational debate. For the record, Hitler only nominally supported Christianity and was not pleased (to say the least) when a small group of Christian clergy began to protest his evils against Jews and others.____Speaking of Jews, I’ve long believed there are striking similarities between anti-Semitism and homophobia, since both Judaism and homosexuality are behaviors condemned by many conservative Christians (the folks at one end of the culture wars). But changes in attitudes towards same-sex marriage don’t lie in this comparison. Rather, it lies in dialogue. Do you know gay people? Do all gays hate all Christians? What about gay Christians? Have you ever sinned as much as a gay person? Where do homosexual thoughts and/or acts lie on the continuum of sin? Regardless of your opinions of the nature of family, how would you feel if your family’s rights were taken away?____In my experience, gay folks are not too different from straights. They work, worry about paying bills, spend time with friends and family, etc.__

Not only did Hitler support Christianity but Christianity, ESPECIALLY American Christians during the thirties supported Hitler. Hitler’s racist comments were parroted by American Christians who claimed brother Adolph as one of their own. The teaching of evolution was banned in German public schools and was replaced by Christian creationism until 1961. There was never a more Christ like man than Adolph Hitler. He roasted millions of people only because they did not profess faith in Jesus Christ, the same reason Jesus supposedly roasts them. Who, may I ask, has ever been more like Jesus Christ than Adolph Hitler?

Fourteen members of my family, including several children, were beheaded for the utterances of one member of my family against Hitler in 1934. Any comparison between San Francisco in 2008 and the Hitlerzeit in Europe is ludicrous. Lots of people are making reference to Nazis who never met one, it seems to me.
However evil you may believe gay marriage to be, the protestors here aren’t being beheaded. You’ll notice all their bodies are intact at the end of the clip. In fact, the city is making sure they are protected.
They aren’t being congratulated for their Christian witness, which may be what they secretly wanted to happen, but they aren’t being physically assaulted. The references to being attacked with urine don’t show up on the tape, and remind me of the woman with the backwards B on her face.
They protested. The gays protested their protest. Both are free speech. How do you suppose a protestor for gay marriage in Pennsylvania would fare on the Westminster campus? All sweetness and light? Or do you suppose a hundred Calvinists would get right in her face?
Methinks the protestors about the protest around the protestors protest too much.

Your headline is that a Christian group were “attacked” by gays and that the video is to express reality. So, all I can take from this is that your sense of reality is sensationlism, much like the way you choose to express your beliefs.
The sad part is, this country was founded on a minority of people (Christians) that came to America so they could freely practice their beliefs without oppression or persecution. Mormons moved to Salt Lake City to do the same. Yet, when others try to practice their beliefs, you are quick to judge and oppress because they differ from yours. How do you think Jesus would feel about that? In fact, I know, because I remember my Sunday school lessons very well. He said to not judge.
Also, when Moses brought down the tablets of the ten commandments, one of them said, “Though shalt Not Lie.” The Yes on Prop 8 ad campaign that was funded my Mormons and Christians was nothing but lies. You lied, broke a commandment in order to get people to back your cause. That is absolutely shameful and hypocritical. And if it is to my recollection of the Ten Commandments, the greatest of rules of the Christian faith, never once do they mention, “Though Shall Not Be A Homo.” So, it seems to me if the homosexuals “are” going to hell, you will be right there with them.
I always found it interesting how certain Christians will pick and choose what from the bible is truly a sin and what God will overlook. Always, of course, absolving their own sins while condemning others.
Do you really think the Jews, the gays, the Muslims, atheists, Mormons, Catholics or whoever doesn’t share the identical beliefs to yours is going to hell? I truly wonder what some of you “supposed” Christians were taught in church because my upbringing of Jesus taught me about the son of God who was loving, accepting and embracing.
Discrimination in the name of God does not remind me of Jesus and his preachings, what it does remind me is of the Klu Klux Klan, Hitler, Al Qaeda, and any other organized group or human that condemned others in the name of God, all while professing themselves to be a good Christian, Good Muslim, or pick your poison.
It’s people like you that give Christianity a bad name. How much more utterly disrespectful can you be? Christians and Mormons poll together their money and time to discriminate a minorities civil rights and then you go to “pray” for them in their own neighborhood and your shocked they didn’t want to hear your message? That’s like stealing some girl’s boyfriend and then showing up at her birthday party and be baffled about why she’s so upset. Seriously, you should be ashamed for your behavior and your ignorance. It’s no wonder people have being leaving the church in droves over the years. It’s over hypocrites like you.
Loving Christians don’t persecute and discriminate others, so don’t insult me or others by using its name like a shield to hide your true nature. And do not use the innocence of children or the sanctity of family or marriage to try and disguise or excuse your bigotry and contempt.
The only one you should be praying for is yourself, for you and your actions will be judged to. I’ll pray for you. And I’m willing to bet I will sleep better at night.

It’s sad how many people have been brainwashed into believing homosexuality is some genetic predisposition and equate it with skin color. However, that’s the only way to justify the claim that one has a ‘right’ to be homosexual. The Bible says otherwise.
Everything God has instructed us to do or not to do in His Word, we have the choice of doing or not doing. ‘Thou shalt not kill.’ ‘Thou shalt not steal.’ The Bible never says ‘Thou shalt not be black’ or ‘Thou shalt not have a physical deformity’ because these are not things in which we have a choice.
With this in mind, the Bible says ‘Man shall not lay with man’ and ‘Woman shall not lay with woman.’ This is something we choose to do or not to do. It’s interesting the same passage in the Bible which condemns homosexuality also condemns beastiality. We don’t hear the people who choose to commit these acts screaming for their rights. Why? Because beastiality along with homosexuality is wrong.

Andrew Sullivan’s blog from The Atlantic regarding the crazy fundies in the Castro: Those Peaceful Christians
I watched Bill O’Reilly last night interview actor Kirk Cameron on marriage equality, an interview in which Cameron said that civil marriage is not susceptible to any change because it is ordained by God. Like many of his fellows, Cameron sees no distinction – because there can never be a distinction for fundamentalists – between civil and religious law. To his credit, O’Reilly asked all the right questions of Cameron, but he kept showing that Youtube of a confrontation in the Castro district, as the bars closed. O’Reilly has not shown any images of the hundreds of totally positive, peaceful protests that went on across the country last Saturday. But that clip, like the Jeremiah Wright clips, are being shown over and over again on Fox to polarize the debate, and to whip up fear among conservative Christians.
But who were those people who decided that immediately after the bruising Prop 8 battle, it was necessary to go into the Castro district to urge homosexuals to repent at the very moment on a weekend night when many bar patrons in a nightlife district would be inebriated or otherwise feisty?
The prayer push was totally within their rights, of course, and should not have been impeded. But I think we can say it was not exactly tactful at such a raw moment. As one of their overly-angry protestors put it, “Why here? Why now?’ Well: you get some idea by watching where one of them ended up soon after, at an event in Kansas hosted by Christian Dominionist, Lou Engle, of Joel’s Army. He is an advocate of total religious war against “demonic” gay people. And one of the young women who went into the gay neighborhood that night calls for a “mass exodus from the demonic influence of the Castro.” Dominionists want an end to the Constitution and reimposition of Biblical law. They truly are the American Taliban. And when they go looking for a religious war, Fox News is there to help them.

William said: It’s sad how many people have been brainwashed into believing homosexuality is some genetic predisposition and equate it with skin color. However, that’s the only way to justify the claim that one has a ‘right’ to be homosexual. The Bible says otherwise.
Boris says: Science tells us the earth is round and is hurtling through space, but the Bible says otherwise. It’s amazing how someone like William who has been thoroughly brainwashed by other PEOPLE into buying into the Christian system of dogmatic superstitions can claim other people are brainwashed. Any time science disagrees with the Bible (which is ALL the time) believers claim anyone who accepts current scientific data is being brainwashed. Just like Christian colleges who brainwash their students into accepting and learning about modern cosmology, evolution, geology, anthropology, oceanography, physics, chemistry and the rest of science people like William routinely deny because the “Bible says otherwise.” Science tells us homosexuality comes from a genetic disposition. Once again the science proves the Bible wrong. This is why Bible believers have denied and fought against every scientific discovery ever made ever since there was a Bible.
William said: Everything God has instructed us to do or not to do in His Word, we have the choice of doing or not doing. ‘Thou shalt not kill.’ ‘Thou shalt not steal.’ The Bible never says ‘Thou shalt not be black’ or ‘Thou shalt not have a physical deformity’ because these are not things in which we have a choice.
Boris says: Why does the Bible not condemn slavery then? Should we believe that people having sex outside of marriage is worse than owning another person? This is why the morals and ethics in the Bible are useless in today’s world. The Bible says people with physical deformities may not enter the temple to worship God.
William said: With this in mind, the Bible says ‘Man shall not lay with man’ and ‘Woman shall not lay with woman.’ This is something we choose to do or not to do. It’s interesting the same passage in the Bible which condemns homosexuality also condemns beastiality. We don’t hear the people who choose to commit these acts screaming for their rights. Why? Because beastiality along with homosexuality is wrong.
Boris says: Killing people and taking their land because they don’t worship your God is wrong too. But the Bible commanded this and other atrocities. The Bible poisons everything and every thought of every believer.
William said: This is why Christians would pray for homosexuals. No different from praying for God to help an alcoholic or kleptomaniac to want & accept treatment.
Boris says: Equating homosexuals with thieves is typical cultural prejudice coming from a Christian. Stealing hurts other people and infringes on their rights. Homosexuality does neither. People like William are determined to hurt others and infringe on their rights because the Bible tells them to. This is why it is so important that writers like Hitchens, Dawkins, Harris, Smith and others expose the fallacies in the Bible and the evils that lurk in the arrogant and tortured minds of right wing fanatic Nazis like William.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/johann-hari/the-strange-strange-story_b_136697.html
He can’t be called a neo-con, he’s very left wing. It makes perfect sense to me, gays are showing themselves to be extremely fascistic since the election. Using the n-word, even at black gays and lesbians who were carrying “no on 8″ signs. Burning a black church in Springfield, MA, invading a church in Lansing, MI and violently threatening the congregation with baseball bats and axes. Creating a blacklist, and demanding people be fired from their jobs. As Hari writes, Hitler never would have risen to power without gay extremists like Ernst Rohm, but far from the homosexual utopia they thought they were getting, they were on the receiving end of the torture they hadn’t minded imposing on others.

It is truly sad that so many people in America have chose to believe a lie rather then the truth. God set forth the truth in his Holy word and those that chose to follow their own perverted desires and have the nerve to assume the position of God and tell him He is wrong will receive what they deserve. Shall the clay say to its creator, the potter why have you made me so? We have no right to question Him and those that do and chose to disobey him, well!! read in the Bible, it’s all there. As for me and my household we will serve the living God no matter what this world tells us. Real Christians out there, stand firm, Lift up the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and be prepared to endure persecution as never before in America For the evil one and his demons have taken the souls of many. We must show the Love of Jesus but we must not compromise his word! God have mercy on those rebellious of Him!
