Prayer request for my Hebrew exam

posted by Susan Johnson | 6:36am Friday November 7, 2008

To all my brothers and sisters in Christ, I ask that you pray for my Hebrew exam today. It’s on the book of Amos. I think I’m ready and it’s an open lexicon test but I’m still very nervous since he’s only giving up 75 minutes to take it.

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight. My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

How would you like the prayer to be? What specifically? On open lexicon does seem like an answer to prayer heh heh.

Hebrew? Ow. Well, not much of a prayer, but you do have my hopes that you do well on your test.
Good luck.

Interesting that you’re studying Amos–
“Because they have sold for silver
Those whose cause was just,
And the needy for a pair of sandals,
you, who trample the heads of the poor
into the dust of the ground
and make the humble walk a twisted course!..”
(Amos: 2/6&7)
Some of the above sounds like the Palins; but mostly it just sounds like Republicans. Best of luck, though, on your exam.

“tell us how it went!”
I bombed it like I’ve never bombed a test before. Completely messed up.

Sorry…then we pray that God will allow you to absorb the test material better next time around and focus your mind to your studies.

sorry to hear that — it’s such a difficult language that I don’t think any of us ever finished the passages we were assigned for the exam, and sometimes the open-book format caused us to take even longer than we would have.
