Racist Obama supporter slaps white cop

posted by Susan Johnson | 2:22pm Saturday November 8, 2008

Apparently she thought she could slap a white cop and get away with it now that we have a black president:

At least five people were arrested across the city after Barack Obama’s rally in Grant Park, including a woman who slapped a Chicago police officer, saying police couldn’t arrest her anymore, prosecutors said today.
Most of the others celebrated the historic occasion with gunfire.
Celita Hart, 19, stood silently in court today when she appeared for a bond hearing.
Prosecutors said Hart, who is black, yelled ” ‘White [expletive], [expletive] McCain–you white police can’t do nothing anymore.’” With that, she reached through the window of a squad car and slapped a white male officer in the face, according to Assistant State’s Atty. Lorraine Scaduto.

It doesn’t look like Obama’s moving fast enough to damp down the unrealistic expectations of his supporters. Evidently, the post-racial candidate is going to have a hard time reconciling the racists on both sides of the aisle.

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

You know it is ignorant people like Miss Hart why everyone still sees black and white instead of just people. I hope she gets a rude awakening herself. WHITE PEOPLE DID VOTE FOR OBAMA AS WELL!!!! And no, not for just the white half. It is understood that it is a big step for black America. Well hello, it is a big step for ALL of America. We united together AS ONE and chose our leader. SOmeone who will work with other nations and put Americans first. That is something we have not had in a long time. We all should unite as one nation and back our new President Elect. As a young female worried about the future of our children, may be some of the load can be lightened.
OH! TO ALL FELLOW YOUNG MOTHERS, BLACK AND WHITE ALIKE. WE ALL NEED TO WORK TOGETHER TO RAISE OUR CHILDREN TO STOP SEEING COLOR OF SKIN AND SEE PEOPLE FOR WHO THEY ARE. RACISM, black and white alike, IS NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

My goodness, what foolishness!
A man like Obama projects so much dignity, and I hope he speaks strongly against such selfish, foolish, lowdown buffoonery!
People of color–why not follow in Barak’s example and make your OWN way, instead of expecting other people to do it for you?
The biggest and best thing Barak can do is to serce as a living model that YES WE CAN–we can stop being racists. We can stop thinking of white people as “damn this, or damn that,” and see our fellow countrymen and women as our brothers and sisters.
AND, he can inspire people of color to raise themselves UP! Just as all people of success and satisfaction have done.
DOWN WITH RACISM!
DOWN WITH FOOLISHNESS!
PEOPLE OF COLOR, WISDOM IS CALLING YOU.
WILL YOU ANSWER???

Oh for heaven’s sake.
Some looney toon who, for all you know, is mentally disturbed or drunk or both, uses Obama as an excuse to slap a white cop and you ballyhoo it as a failure of the Obama campaign.
Five whole people were arrested across from Grant Park after the celebration!?! There were at least a 50,000 in the park alone and close to a million living the lakeshore. And this singals some kind of breakdown of our society!?!
This is truly pathetic.

is this the way you want the world to see you, that is acting just like the haters want you to act. this man [obama] showed you how to act with grace and dignity, no matter what was said of him. that is why he won. it would be wrong for white or black to hit a cop. you don’t get to act like you want and undo all this man has accomplished. he has not even been sworn in and you are acting a fool. because now you will disgrace your own people. and there has been enough of that also. and i am not a white woman, i was alive when MLK made his speech, and i have seen it come to pass. read the speech and then get your head out of your ass

No, we white folks cannot tell black people to “get over it” until we show them that we have eliminated racism on our end. Cops still treat black youths with more suspicion than they treat white youths. It is not up to black people to overcome OUR racism.

(I’m not white.)
No, it’s not up to Black people to overcome White racism. But they darned well don’t have any right to start slapping police of any color, white, black, or green with purple polka dots. And Black or White people who own the sense God gave gravel won’t try it.

One silly person in a crowd of at least 50,000?
Five people arrested in the city of Chicago between 11 pm and the next morning?
That’s pretty darn good for any crowd and any city! I’d guess that level of non-violence doesn’t hold as a norm in very many places!
Did Atlanta, did Houston, did San Diego do that well the same night?
Michele, you really should try confronting your fears and live as our Lord suggested; without fear.
But then your posts wouldn’t be nearly as funny any more.

Statistically blacks youths are involved in a grossly disproportionate percentage of violent, drug and property crimes. Learn some crime statistics some time and you will know why they are treated with greater suspicion, they have earned that suspicion with the disproportionate percentage of crimes they commit as compared to their population. Oh let me guess, crackers are responsible for them committing the crimes too.

So that makes it OK to treat black youths as guilty instead of Innocent – before they’re tried?

and now there’s news that students have been punished for simply saying Obama’s name:
http://www.wapt.com/video/17928161/index.html
it should be evident to all of us that there are still a lot of racial issues that we have to deal with — on both sides of the racial divide
waitaminnit — racial divide? like it’s either/or? We have a president-elect who is both black AND white. So in many cases it’s both. And in many other cases, it’s neither: we still have to deal with racial issues regarding native americans, asians, latinos, middle-easterners, etc…..
And yes, white people still have issues to deal with and still contribute to the problem. So forgive me if I don’t get all up in arms when white folks get treated as they have treated others for the past 400 years….

Which only demonstrates and proves your disingenuous claim that you are concerned for justice. A person truly concerned for justice is always concerned for justice for all people on all occasions and never uses past offenses as excuses to lessen the concern for certain people. “Innocent until proven guilty” is part of our code of justice to protect us from premature punishment by our government. It does not mean that the officer who was assaulted didn’t really get slapped, or that no one saw the slapper do it. Under Scott R.’s logic, all arrests would be a violation of our rights. Try to learn something about the proper sequence and application of terms before uttering such empty statements, sir. And by the way, a 19 year-old female is no longer a youth by many standards such as military, voting, etc. Also, if the slapper was any other ethnicity, including white, he or she would have been arrested just the same. Utterances such as yours only serve to further oppress minorities through ignorance.
