I noted recently that the Dilbert comic strip had been set free from its website and can now be posted on blogs. Well, it turns out that all of their comics have been freed, so now we can post Wizard of Id:

And any of their 90 comic strips.
But some of my favorites are still trapped because they belong to Universal Press Syndicate and they're not letting them out. They're still trying to make money off them being reprinted. Good luck with that.

I hope you have the good grace and sense of propriety to acknowledge the comic artists each time you do this. These strips may not seem like much, but it is how they earn a living. Giving them due credit means they may continue to make their avocation their vocation.
I thought conservatives supported property rights? If I were as profligate as you with terms like "Marxism" and "socialism" I'd say they apply to your apparent view that copyright is a form of "trapping" and that you should have the right to reprint (and get paid for and enable your employer to get paid for selling advertising around) the work of other people without paying them a royalty or licensing fee.
That's not "setting free." That's just free, as in not paying for something someone else worked hard to create. Two entirely different things.
