Video: John McCain SNL Skit

posted by Susan Johnson | 5:38am Sunday November 2, 2008

John McCain and Tiny Fey (as Sarah Palin) are on QVC since it’s the only channel they could afford and are plugging their campaign and commemorative campaign items. Fey goes rogue and sells her 2012 presidential t-shirts:Here’s McCain talking about his strategy in the final days of the campaign:I like the “Sad Grandpa” strategy:

SEN. MCCAIN – “It isn’t. And here’s another bad one. It’s called ‘The Sad Grandpa.’ That’s where I get on TV and go, ‘C’mon, Obama’s gonna have plenty of chances to be President! It’s my turn! Vote for me!’”

If he cried too, it might work, It almost worked for Clinton :-) If you’re broadband challenged (maybe under Obama’s rule he’ll be able to fix that — it would be selfish of use to not want to pay for it, right?), you can read the transcript here.

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight. My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

It requires an admirable self-awareness for McCain to do the skit. And of course you couldn’t get the real Sarah Palin for that one.

And you for sure won’t see Obama parodying himself.

Mr. McCain was very funny and he takes himself much more lightly than Mr. Obama who is much more elitist and seems to think that he is perfect. It is sad that Mr. McCain will end up being remembered not for his service to this great country but for being http://www.thesadgrandpa.com.

He was funny, Tina Fey was hysterical! She does such a good Palin but McCain needed to do this to get more people to like him. I think Obama is very likable, he is refreshing. We don’t need a comedian to fix our country up and give it back to the people, we need a smart honest man along with a smart honest VP. Remember, McCain had backed Bush and Chaney and they nearly destroyed us.
I guess no one saw Obama dance on The Ellen show? He knows how to laugh : )He was funny aswell! But the issue is to vote for the best man to lead this country and Obama along with Biden who I adore, they are the ones to do it.
And last, I would rather have Tina Fey as VP rather then Palin. The thought frightens me!

McCain was funny. As for the Obama comments above, he has shown he can make fun of himself. See his comments at the Al Smith dinner and the recent story by Michelle Obama on his preempting his daughter’s TV shows as examples.

Its not that Obama thinks he’s perfect, he carries himself as a professional.

I remember Nixon’s “Checker Speech” and crying worked for him. John McCain can laugh at himself, ans Obama has also made some funny comments or laughed at parodies. Both have a sense of humour. But being President is not a joking matter.
The choice is America’s. If you do not vote, don’t gripe about the out come. Support whoever wins. America needs unity and nor division.
