One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1. She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life. A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight.
My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments.
The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others.
Through it, I have seen people reach out

Michelle is right, LEFTY LIBS. Pray to your media god Keith Olberman. See if he answers your prayers after Obama loses Tuesday, going down in flames. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.
(Just modifying the tone of my comments to fit with the blog owner’s.)

Of course he was fine with it, he knows how he comes across. Like someone said about McCain’s self-awareness that allowed him to parody himself, same goes for Olbermann.
I’d love to see Drudge and his headlines parodied, he’s just not popular enough though.

We “lefties” (including Obermann) can laugh at ourselves. Hilarious!!!

Olbermann is the same to the Left as Rush and O’Reilly are to the Right. Even Olbermann admits it. Personally, he’s not very liberal or even political. Like Limbaugh, Olbermann is an old sports reporter. The big difference is that Olbermann admits it publicly. Some people think another difference is that Olbermann is a lot smarter. I think it’s true but not that important.
I thought the Olbermann skit was funny. They didn’t go far enough.

Just amused that again, Michele thinks SNL has never gone after the left wing. I can only imagine she first saw the show sometime after January 2001, because the implication is beyond laughable.
Unlike RIGHTY CONS, we can jeer at our own. That’s kinda why we have 100% of the lion’s share of comedians worth their salt (not to mention virtually all worthwhile musicians, writers, artists, etc, while you guys have Ted Nugent, Ann Coulter, and… Larry the Cable Guy? But that’s a little beside the point).
Keith gets at a lot of right wing crap that the “MSM” doesn’t focus on. George Carlin liked him, and so do I. But yes, he’s an over-the-top, easy liberal target, and yes, this bit is hilarious.

The key was that Ben Affleck — himself a well-known leftie — was the one skewering Olbermann. I roared at the skit (and was looking forward to it since I’d been tipped off to it midweek).
Of course righties like you hate Olbermann — he’s the first cable leftie to be as intense as O’Reilly and Hannity (and Limbaugh on radio), and more intelligent to boot. It’s fine to oppose Olbermann’s politics, but if you’re going to hate him for being an “egomaniac,” as your tagline indicates, you’d better “hate on” O’Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh as well.
Fat chance (literally in Limbaugh’s case) of that.
