One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1. She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life. A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments.

Well, they let W and his minions loose thrugh the city for 8 years, so who would notice a few more loonies. Actually, this is typical during Inaugural weeks – they don’t want anyone else competing for attention I guess.
This sure looks like a great party! Id nothing else the music ought to be astounding, considering all the musicians that supported Obama. Wish I was able to be there (for the music) but glad I am not (because of the weather). It will be interesting to watch the coverage on TV. A local high school will be in the parade, too!

I’m planning to attend the Inauguration and I am appalled by the stupidity of the DC council.

Drunks rarely assassinate anyone. And it actually makes sense to have as many drunks around as possible because no assassin can effectively work in an environment where he is constantly being jostled, having beer spilled on him and people wanting to see if his gun really works.
But I will pretty much deal with this inauguration as I have every other one since 1981. I will ignore it. Speechifying bores me to tears and I could not care less about who wears what to which party.

Perhaps they are hoping that everybody being in a drunken stupor will be good for security?

They are just making sure the Republicans have a place to drown their sorrows.

Hopefully, they (the drunks) will be like W. Hell, he’s been in the DC area eight years and has done absolutely nothing
