One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1. She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life. A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments.
The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others.

I would agree the the overwhelming majority of people who have participated in Tea Parties are not motivated by racism.
But, as is true of most protest groups…right or left…there is a lunatic fringe that can grab attention. No doubt, there are a few white supermacists in the bunch, just as left-wing protests often draw crazed anarchists.
But, race aside, it is interesting that when the Bush Adminsitration was ballooning the dficit, no one went into the streets and Sean Hannity wasn’t flaking for them non-stop on Faux News.

On my home world, we have no need of taxes, since each of us is capable of calling matter into creation with the power of our thoughts. This does not make us, in our way of understanding, anything other than ourselves. We do not claim to be gods or supernatural. However, beings such as yourselves, who have a greater capacity than even we of Planet Xanthrox to call matter into your realities, resort to money and taxes. Sadly, these keep your powers feeble.

Robert (Morwell), I do listen to Hannity once in a while – not often, but I’ll catch some of his show on the way home from work and if it sounds like he’s going to have an interesting guest I’ll listen for a bit longer.
To be fair, Hannity really has called Republicans (and Bush) out on a lot of things and the ballooning deficit was one of them.
