As I've said in the past of Al Gore, if they really want me to believe that the planet is in trouble, they should act like they believe it themselves. Evidently, no one involved in "The Age of Stupid" actually believed what they stated in the film: "Flying is the single worst thing an ordinary individual can do to cause climate change." And when questioned about it, they tried to silence the question instead of answering it.
Just one more example of the elites excepting themselves from the standards they want to impose on the rest of us.
Snyder's predicament has led to a debate in Michigan about whether a law that says no one may care for unrelated children in their home for more than four weeks each calendar year unless they are licensed day-care providers needs to be changed. It also has irked parents who say they depend on such friendly offers to help them balance work and family
Now, they are attempting to write a bill that addresses the issue of good neighbors helping each other out! Unbelievable that being a good neighbor is being regulated!
It's a no-brainer to figure out what this woman was trying to do, yet the bureaucrats still harassed her because bureaucrats stick to the letter of the law even when the law is ridiculous and intrusive. You'd think the fact that she doesn't charge her neighbors a fee would demonstrate she isn't running an illegal day care. But of course common sense is anathema to the government.
Yet another perfect example of why you do not want a government bureaucrat getting a say in your health care.
According to Jack Kelly of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Um...wasn't that what they thought about Bush? How much of a change did we get if world leaders are still viewing our president as naive and arrogant?
Ralph Nader has written a novel. Well, he doesn't call it a novel--he calls it "a practical utopia." In it, he spins a fictional vision of what might happen if the country's super-rich got together with assorted influential people and worked to transform American culture and politics into something more to Ralph Nader's liking.
In Mr. Nader's tale, billionaire investor Warren Buffett is so dismayed by the ineffectual and chaotic government reaction to Hurricane Katrina that he hatches a plan to "redirect" American society. He summons a brace of moguls--Ted Turner, Barry Diller, Ross Perot and George Soros, among others--to a secret Maui location, along with such celebrities as Bill Cosby, Yoko Ono and Warren Beatty. As they confer together, they find that they all--surprise! --agree that Something Must Be Done.
Make sure you go read the rest of the article to get the full sense of the novel :-)
Evidently, the Amazon reviewers (all 5 of them) loved it an gave it 5 stars.
The results of this poll aren't surprising. A majority of Democrats view the government as responsible for health insurance while a majority of Republicans and Independents do not:In a recent Gallup survey, 89% of Republicans, 64% of independents, and 61%...

Deliver us, Obama? What the heck are these people thinking? Why in the world would they pray to Obama? Shouldn't religious leaders be more careful using the same language they use to petition their deity to petition a political leader?...

OK, this is a little old but in case you missed it, Glenn Beck mocked by SNL (he's nailed the idiot voice). The skit with Paterson is also pretty funny, NJ is a pretty easy target. (via)...

I'm sorry but I'm having trouble taking this guy seriously since he has to be in the 1% of the wealthy, given the amount of money his films generate. So, when he says things like this, I can't get over...
Well, it looks like Ayers had a big hand in writing Obama's book (which doesn't come as a surprise since that was the speculation last year). Ayers was sent the notes and recordings of interviews with Obama family members:Andersen continues,...
Not surprising that the IRS would sever ties with an organization that helps clients defraud the government out of tax revenue: The Internal Revenue Service said it would no longer include ACORN in its volunteer tax assistance program. The program...
Well, it looks like Michael Steele isn't the only one who thinks it's weird that Obama would request that the first black governor of NY get out of the race:"You never heard of that before," Michelle Paterson, in her first...

Hmmmm...good question. Why would Obama support the unpopular Corzine but not the unpopular Paterson? Is it race? Schieffer's expression is priceless! Very funny video. I laugh every time I watch it. I agree with Steele that Obama doesn't need to...
Evidently, this story has moved from the conservative media to the MSM. I found this part interesting since, not only does ACORN make this claim, but their mouth pieces in the MSM (like the NY Times), do as well:ACORN has...

It's so much fun watching politicians get caught in their own web of deception. The video is hilarious, watching the press start to circle this guy who wants to be the next governor of Virginia as he attempts to spin,...
I'm not buying that. Evidently, Pelosi doesn't have a problem giving federal dollars to an organization that helps defraud the federal government and promotes child prostitution. When one ACORN office has problems, that may be a problem with that office...

I agree with Steve Chapman completely on this, Republicans in Congress share the blame for their failure to do anything about health care while they were in control. Their proposals could have been enacted while they had control: His GOP...
I can't believe he rudely took away the microphone from Taylor Swift (one of my 13 year-old's favorites) and cut short her acceptance speech just so he could voice his opinion. How incredibly narcissistic must this guy be to think...
I think it says more about Bill Maher that he actually sees racism in such benign a word that has nothing to do with race and then uses it as an excuse to do racist humor. Just further evidence that...
