posted by Susan Johnson | 10:12pm Saturday September 26, 2009

OK, this is a little old but in case you missed it, Glenn Beck mocked by SNL (he’s nailed the idiot voice). The skit with Paterson is also pretty funny, NJ is a pretty easy target.(via)

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight. My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

Please tell me you didn’t just call Glen Beck a idiot? In my view he is reporting the news without sugar coating it for money like most would do. I have been keeping up with the news an I find more information on Fox News-Glen Beck than any others as a christian I would have to think why you would resort to name calling. Let me ask you this did you call the President an idiot over the police arrest an that stupid beer summit. Am new to beliefnet an I also listen to Glen Beck so does that make me an Idiot to?

It’s interesting. Whenever Glenn Beck says something he can’t really defend, he rushes to say he’s NOT a newsman.
But Michele said it was an “idiot voice.” I’ll leave it to you to decide why you leapt to the conclusion that meant she was calling Beck himself an idiot.
Actually, I don’t think he’s an idiot. I think he’s more of a tub-thumping demogogue. When he was on CNN and had a hemorrhoid operation go bad, he whined and moaned about how “regular Joes” were disrespected and ignored by the medical establishment. Then, when he went to Fox he began waxing poetic about how we had the most wonderful medical system in the world (40-plus million uninsured notwithstanding).
Getting back to the tape…I thought they were all hilarious, though the Dateline reporter at the end was creepy-hilarious.

It’s a tabloid. Cf. Large Spider Crawls on Pope During Speech in Prague. Yeah, newsworthy.

I think ‘idiot voice’ is the voice GB does when he’s talking as Joe Sixpack. Mouth kind of cocked to the side, kind of whining.

Just wondering…Living here in the heartland, we don;t hear that much from Paterson. Is he known for joking about Jersey, or is that just an SNL thing?
