Tim Keller's new book, Counterfeit Gods: The Empty Promises of Money, Sex, and Power, and the Only Hope that Matters goes on sale today. From the excepts I've read it's pretty convicting. Here's a video of Keller's explanation of why he wrote the book:
And of course Challies already has his book review up.
I was bummed they didn't publish a Kindle version. I like the speed at which I can get the book on my Kindle, instantly! Does make impulse buying much more convenient :-)

Michele, apologies but I think you have a minor spelling nit. I think "it's pretty convicting." should be "it's pretty convincing."
"Convicting" is evangelese for "reveals one's personal sin."
From Challies's review: What then is an idol? “It is anything more important to you than God, anything that absorbs your heart and imagination more than God, anything you seek to give you what only God can give.”
Of course, this is the great irony in all the lives of the saints. Take Merton: he wanted to be a great writer. But it wasn't until after he devoted his life to God that he wrote his best stuff.
What does Zooey tell his sister: “Act for God, if you want to – be God’s actress, if you want to. What could be prettier?"
Moonshadow, thanks for pointing out that convicting may be jargon.
