Rightwingers should calm down, Obama’s hasn’t done anything yet is the gist of the skit:BTW, you have to agree that Afghanistan is worse off now. He still hasn’t capture bin Laden as he promised on the campaign trail.Another btw, this guy really has to work on his impersonation. He totally isn’t getting the voice and Obama’s speaking style.(via)

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight. My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

“He still hasn’t capture bin Laden”
in his first year and with other crises to deal with, he is turning around the hunt for bin laden.

Mr Keller was not an obvious choice for the job — he spoke no Middle Eastern languages, and was not an expert on al-Qaeda or Pakistan. Yet in 2006, with many resources diverted to Iraq, the CIA was desperate for agents to join the hunt.

Today this is changing. The agency is bringing back CIA retirees — a group known as The Cadre — many of whom are veterans who worked with the Afghan Mujahidin during the Soviet occupation in the 1980s.

many people have been saying for years now that bush screwed up when he turned away from bin laden, when we could have killed him and been done with it. instead bush bogged us down in iraq for 6 years, 3000+ soldiers are dead, the war in afghanistan was ignored.
bush had more than 6 years to hunt him down, i’m willing to give obama more than 9 months.
“BTW, you have to agree that Afghanistan is worse off now.”
uh… no, actually, i don’t. things aren’t any better, but this event that you linked to doesn’t show a trend that things are getting worse either. your perception is that it’s worse because obama is the commander in chief and you dislike him.

Didn’t Bush have close to 8 years to capture Bin Ladin, and yet you are ragging on Obama who has been in office less than a year?
As always, you are a real pip Michelle.
And he has set the groundwork for a lot of accomplishments. Now let’s just see the bitter Bush-supporters step out of his way to let it happen.
The group I find the most hypocritical? Evangelical Right-Wing Christians that vehemently oppose the restructuring of the healthcare system so that every American stands a fair chance to, well, not die.
What Would Jesus Do, indeed, eh?

Michele: “BTW, you have to agree that Afghanistan is worse off now. He still hasn’t capture bin Laden as he promised on the campaign trail.”
How nice of you to acknowledge that a President becomes completely responsible for these things after nine months of his term in office.
That means we can put the responsibility for preventing the 9/11 attacks entirely at George Bush’s feet, right?

You are quite the snarky little Christian. I hope you don’t loose your health care, You look like you may make too much money for Medicare. I lost my sister to cancer last Aug. She worked a full time job for a Hardware store, they didn’t provide health care insurance. She made too much money for aid and U of M hospital wanted her to pay for her tests. She did, she charged it. Eventually she died, in debt…We had to take a collection to bury her. Your hatred for liberals has taken over your compassion for those that deserve your love and respect. My sister wasn’t poor enough to qualify for help. When she tried to get insurance she was denied because of her preexisting condition. Many of the people that can’t get help are working class people who have no insurance or are paying for insurance (only to find out that they are under insured).
It’s your brand of Christianity that would make Jesus cry.

PolitiFact Check of Saturday Night Live’s checklist:
• “Close Guantanamo Bay – Not Done.” We’ve rated Obama’s promise No. 177 Close the Guantanamo Detention Center as Stalled. Congress has been reluctant to fund the closure and press reports have indicated progress is not proceeding as the White House had hoped. Still, Obama gave himself a year to get this done, and that’s not until January 2010.
• “Out of Iraq – Not Done.” Actually, Obama did not promise to have troops out during his first year; he promised to remove them in approximately 16 months. We rated Obama’s promise No. 125, Direct military leaders to end the war in Iraq, as Promise Kept and his promise No. 126, Begin removing combat troops from Iraq, as In the Works.
• “Improve Afghanistan – Worse.” The promise we’ve rated on Afghanistan is No. 134, Send two additional brigades to Afghanistan. We’ve rated this Promise Kept.
• “Health Care Reform – Hell No.” We rated Promise No. 433, Sign a “universal” health care bill, as In the Works. With health care legislation pending in Congress, many of Obama’s campaign promises about health care reform are rated In the Works.
• “Global Warming – Not Done.” One of Obama’s top promises on global warming is No. 456, Create cap and trade system with interim goals to reduce global warming. Congress is considering legislation on this, so we’ve rated it In the Works.
• “Torture prosecutions – Not Done.” Obama never promised to prosecute people who tortured terror suspects. He did make promise No. 175, End the use of torture, which we rated In the Works.

Fact checking SNL? Seriously? I’m thinking back to the Bush years…CNN or any MSM fact checking parodies on Bush…I’m thinking…Can’t remember that. Not to say they didn’t. I just don’t remember the MSM coming to a Republican’s defense of a parody on SNL.
But folks, seriously. It’s a parody! Lighten up already.
