It amazing that our intelligence community has learned so little since 9-11. They knew that Hasan had tried to contact al Qaeda and yet what did they do about it?
U.S. intelligence agencies were aware months ago that Army Major Nidal Hasan was attempting to make contact with people associated with al Qaeda, two American officials briefed on classified material in the case told ABC News.Did the intelligence agencies let the Army know that he was under investigation? He was getting ready to deploy to Afghanistan, wouldn't it make sense not to send him there if he was conflicted about being a Muslim and a soldier and had been in contact with the enemy. Either the Army is totally clueless or the intelligence agencies did not let them know thus repeating the same problem that lead to 9-11: lack of inter-agency communication. Unbelievable! It is not known whether the intelligence agencies informed the Army that one of its officers was seeking to connect with suspected al Qaeda figures, the officials said.
