Huckabee says he’s not as attractive as Palin

posted by Susan Johnson | 7:48am Tuesday November 10, 2009

Dismissing Palin’s popularity as just a reaction to her appearance is a pretty cheap shot. It’s this kind of sexist crap that makes the Republican party so unattractive (though, we all know the Democrats are just as sexist):

Palin is the party’s rock star.
“Some of the people who had excoriated me and really been very dismissive of me for views that I had taken, and labeled me anything from a populist to an ignoramus — the same people have been very defensive [of] and laudatory to Sarah Palin,” Huckabee noted, adding that he’d invited her to appear on his weekly Fox show but “could never get any contact.”
“I’m glad she’s getting the props — I know I’m not nearly as attractive,” he said with a guileless grin.

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

As a lefty, I pray to Jesus daily that Sarah Palin will attract the 20% of the nation that identifies itself as Republican. She is the GOPs beast of burden, ironically created and empowered by the GOP elite. Palin fans are dumb enough to think that Californians, New Yorkers (think District 23), Floridians, etc. will vote for Palin and Palin-styled candidates. I’m glad they feel that way. I want the Club for Growth to oust every single ‘RINO’ there is. It’ll be so beautiful in 2010. Praise the Lord!
