Evidently, the Republicans aren't the only ones purging moderates:
Democratic Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu is out as keynote speaker for the Palm Beach County Democratic Party's annual fund-raising dinner next week because party leaders dislike her stance on health care reform, county Democratic Chairman Mark Alan Siegel said today.Maybe they should have waited to see if she caves on the issue, she's a Democrat after all. The possibility of a primary challenge or the loss of her committee chairmanship may be enough.

Hardly a purge. At least when compared to what national Republican leaders did to Dee Dee Scozzafava in NY-23. *That* was a purge of a moderate, and look how far it got them...
