Sean Hannity caught using wrong protest video by Jon Stewart

posted by Susan Johnson | 10:58am Thursday November 12, 2009

Hannity’s show boosts the attendance at the GOP rally by including the Capitol Hill Tea Party footage (which had much better attendance): Hannity’s response? :

“Although it pains me to say this, Jon Stewart, Comedy Central, he was right. Now on his program last night, he mentioned that we had played some incorrect video on this program last week while talking about the Republican health care rally on Capitol Hill. He was correct, we screwed up. we aired some video of a rally in September along with a video from the actual event. It was an inadvertent mistake, but a mistake none the less. So, Mr. Stewart, you were right. We apologize. But by the way, we wanna thank you and all your writers for watching.”

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

The Jon Stewart video was a riot. I loved how the trees gained foliage during the video.
I’m on the fence about this being on purpose. On the one hand it seems in character for Fox News to intentionally mix the footage and lie about it. But this fraud was so obvious it might have been an editing mistake too.
It’s been on my to do list to watch Out Foxed as that documentary claims they do this sort of thing frequently.

Josef Goebbels invented Fox News.
It’s called fascist propaganda.
Which reveals Fox watchers to be closet Nazis.

I am an amateur video editor; I would never do such a sloppy job of editing video. A professional doesn’t make such mistakes. This was not a mistake. They had to actually go into their video files to find the older Tea Party tape as it wouldn’t be with the GOP rally original footage, and then piece the two different footages together to create the video for airing. That was supposed to be an “inadvertent mistake”? No. It was intentional with the hopes that either they wouldn’t get caught or if they did get caught the damage had already been done. This is the norm for Fox News and the list is long for intentionally enhancing what should be news. Quite frankly Fox News must think their viewers are morons. There is no journalistic integrity at the Fox News Country Club.

News programs have to put something on the screen … I’d rather look at a crowd than an anchor. My favorite technique is when a small snippet is looped … again and again and again to fill out the voice-over.
