Since Reuters decided to remind us that we can all contribute money to help reduce the national debt. I thought I would pass along the reminder since I figure the left are always advocating for freebies that ran up our debt, they should pony up and help pay for them:
Not sure what to give Uncle Sam this Christmas? How about a nice, fat check to help whittle away at the $7.6 trillion national debt?If all the celebrities advocating for health care reform would dig into their pockets and pay their fair share, we should reduce the debt by a millions. Kind of scary that it would be just a drop in the bucket. The U.S. Treasury Department accepts gifts, payable to the Bureau of the Public Debt. Just mail them to the attention of Department G, Post Office Box 2188, Parkersburg, West Virginia, 26106-2188. Make a note in the memo section that it is a gift to reduce the debt held by the public.

According to Treasury spokesman Kim Treat, people do send checks. In the last fiscal year they added up to a little over $3 million, which was the highest total since at least 1996.
Some include notes. Common reasons for donating include a sense of patriotism and immigrants expressing their thanks to the United States for giving them an opportunity, he said.
BTW, I think it's fitting that the king of pork barrel spending, Senator Bryd, (just drive the West Virginia and see how many highways and buildings carry his name) would ensure that the national debt office was in his state.

THANKS FOR THIS..IT MADE MY DAY.....CANT STOP LAUGHING:)
I donate about 45% of my income to the various levels of government in the US.
I love this site and I will come back to visit. The article is so real and yet I laugh all the way to the end. Instead of being so scared about the debt scenario, I feel more hopeful that with the patriotism some donors showed, we will somehow get over this mess.

just as soon as you pony up and pay for republican follies, love (like the iraq, afghan wars, tax cuts to the rich, etc). and as always, i remind conservatives to stand by their values and refuse to accept government handouts like medicare and medicaid and social security.
