One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1. She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life. A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight.

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments.
The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others.
Through it, I have seen people reach out

What reason is there to believe that Obama is doing a terrible job as president? Please offer reasons to support your claims. It will help people determine whether the claims are warranted. For instance, suppose someone says that he knows that Bigfoot exists. But he offers no reasons to support his assertion. His assertion itself is irrelevant to whether I’m warranted in believing his claim is true. Many, many assertions have been offered that are known to be false.
Moreover, Obama is doing a good job as president. He hasn’t started any unjust wars, we are going to get a health care bill passed that is better than the status quo, and the economic stimulus that he got through has resulted in our losing far fewer jobs than we would have lost without it.

Funny – Obama hasn’t started an illegal war that resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of civilians, so in my book, he’d have to murder his own mother on television before I’d consider him a worse president than the retarded rhesus monkey you worshipped for 8 years.

Yeah, Michelle, he’s doing an awesome job! He’s done a good job at:
* Running up a $1.5 debt
* On the verge of wrecking our health care system
* Printing money and caused our dollar to tank
* Securing the Olympics for Chicago
* Leaving our troops dangling in Afghanistan
* Sitting by while Iran goes nuclear
* Bringing folks into his administration who fail to pay their taxes
* Bringing in other folks who idolize Mao Tse-Tung and Hugo Chavez
* Giving almost $800 billion to pork projects and friends
* Getting a Nobel Peace Prize nomination in the first two weeks of his office by doing nothing
* Nationalizing auto manufacturing and finance companies in the US
[How many characters am I allowed before my post is cut?]
He’s AWESOME!

Steve and Your name, tell me of ONE accomplishment Obama has done in the ten months in office other then travel
just one

I’ll mention some of his accomplishments. First, he passed the economic stimulus plan. It has resulted in, and will continue to result in, the production of the things that help many people (for instance, infrastructure projects). It also has, and will continue to, provide jobs.
Second, he got more TARP money appropriated, which has helped us avoid more bad economic consequences. It has caused banks to engage in more reasonable lending practices.
Third, his trip to China, and the speeches and meetings he had there, are likely to help push China in a better direction. The two largest carbon emitters in the world agreed to work towards a successful outcome in Copenhagen. In addition, Obama and Hu agreed to continue their dialogue on human rights, with Hu specifically mentioning religious freedom and Obama focusing on freedom for “ethnic and religious minorities.”
Fourth, it is very likely that a reasonably good health care bill is going to pass. Obama’s speeches and focus on this issue have helped this happen. We’ve been trying to get a comprehensive health care bill passed since the Truman administration.
Fifth, he has increased funding and focus on math and science and on improving the performance of U.S. students in match and science. Here are links:

It is important that U.S. citizens improve significantly at science. For instance, a significant percentage of U.S. citizens believe that planet earth is about 6,000 years old. That is analogous to someone believing that the distance between Los Angeles and New York is about five yards.
Sixth, he said he is not going to put the missile defense system in the Czech Republic or Poland. That is a great decision. Here is a link:

Seventh, partly because of Obama’s diplomatic, reasonable and thoughtful approach to governing, the U.S. is viewed much more around the world than it had been under Bush. Here is a link:

Although maybe this isn’t an end in itself, it likely will produce good consequences down the road.

Your Name,
Fight fair, Obama’s idiocy cannot be compared to that of monkey.
So use some other insult towards Dubya.
I wonder though, how many people have been killed by abortion since this rabidly pro-abortion President has taken office? I’ll bet it’s more than all of those killed in the twin towers times two.
And of course, as Obama is bowing to Saudi authority, women are being hailed as equals in Saudi Arabia right?
How many soldiers are being killed and maimed while Obama is dithering? EVEN ON AMERICAN SOIL.
Obama is more like a sloth or mole. Or maybe a Rahm trained parrot. That would be a fair animal analogy I think.

“how many people have been killed by abortion”
none, unless there have been some botched abortions causing the death of the mother… or possibly more abortion doctors murdered by you right-wing fascists. after all, a fetus is not a person.
“Obama is bowing to Saudi authority, women are being hailed as equals in Saudi Arabia right?”
and bush made it to first base with saudi royalty with all the kissing and hand-holding. it was really sweet to see. but what is it that you expect of obama – to fix the world? well, i voted for him and don’t expect that much. i’m happy with the fixes that he’s making here in the u.s. of a.
“How many soldiers are being killed and maimed while Obama is dithering? EVEN ON AMERICAN SOIL.”
huh? i’m certain that fewer soldiers were killed in afghanistan while he “dithered” (nice right-wing talking point, btw… straight from the mouth of dick cheney) than were killed in iraq after bush declared “mission accomplished.” do you somehow think that a hasty decision by obama on afghanistan would have changed anything to do with the fort hood killings? you must have just rewound your cuckoo clock.
