Tomato thrown at Palin during book signing

posted by Susan Johnson | 11:20am Tuesday December 8, 2009

A guy throws a tomato at Palin during her book signing at Mall of America in Minnesota and hits a cop instead:I think it would have been better for him to have protested Palin by buying Plouffe’s book instead. At least he wouldn’t have been arrested (possible charges of assaulting a police office) and ridiculed for his ineptitude. BTW, Plouffe’s is currently at 154 on Amazon so I guess “Beat Palin’s Book for a Day” is actually working.

One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1.   She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life.  A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated
My husband told me that there are rumors that I've died. I'm happy to report that I'm still very much alive. My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Rest in peace, Internet Monk.
A man known in the cyber world as The Internet Monk, has died. Michael Spencer lost his battle with cancer tonight. My prayers go out for his family and for all those who loved and will miss him. :(

The peace that passes all understanding, pt. 1
I'm coming out of my normal hiding place to make a few comments. The internet is a strange place. It is often a wonderful place, a helpful place, a unifying place. But it is also alienating, cold, and is the perfect medium in which to depersonalize others. Through it, I have seen people reach out

A tomato? Why not moose chili? If you are going to offend the former governor of Alaska, it seems tomatoes are as inappropriate as pineapples.

A homeless bum wasn’t he?
Otherwise known as a typical Obama supporter.
You know the ones that Obama organized in all of his oh-so succesful presidential prep work community work. Ever been to Obama’s inner cities?
I’ll bet his two daughters haven’t.

typical supporter? considering the numbers that obama beat your looser republican nut-ball candidates by, there are far more homeless bums than i ever realized. of course it might have had something to do with the fact that homeless people know that a rich yuppie republican who has more houses than he can remember to count (and pay taxes on) and a woman who drops tens of thousands of dollars on a wardrobe just to look pretty for her v.p. run just can’t understand what it’s like to live just one day in their shoes.
maybe the tomato bomber is actually an illiterate palin supporter who misread her book as “going ragu”.
in other news, the sale of tomatoes is up 70%.

Praise, oh, praise….whatever. I’d just like to point out that the worm hole for the invading space aliens opened up over Norway this week, not Alaska, so maybe some appreciation for Governor Palin’s role in protecting our country is in order here.
