One Final Word
My dear friend Michele slipped into eternity on Wednesday, February 1. She was a remarkable woman who left a legacy of faith, determination, and love. For three years she courageously battled the ovarian cancer that eventually robbed her of her life. A few days before she died, one of her docto

The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated

My cancer has gone to stage four but we are controlling it with chemo, the cancer numbers are currently in the normal range. I've stopped blogging to concentrate on my daughters and writing a

An update and a prayer request
Several people have asked about Michele's condition, and have promised to pray for her. On her behalf, I thank you for that. I spoke with her a little while ago, and she asked that I come here and tell you what's going on, and to ask you to pray for her. She isn't able to post here herself right

Let me boast a local and personal connection to previous U. S. Olympic hockey teams. My cousin Mike Richter was goalie for the United States Olympic hockey team and World Cup teams more than once, the first time being at Calgary in 1988. He grew up in Flourtown and practiced at the Wissahickon Skating Club. He won a Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers and is retired now; I saw him this past Thanksgiving.

Dear Michele,
I am so sorry to hear about your illness. I have read your blog, and I pray for you every day. I hope remisssion is in your future. I am happy to see that you have an way to vent and meet friends on your blog. I find your blogs about religion and politics very intersting. I have enjoyed reading them. I am glad that you have found an outlet to vent your emotions and help others through your blog.
I did not know you had two teenager daughters. I sponser a little girl in Thailand myself.
I know we have had our differences in the past, but I am hoping that you will write back to me.
Either way, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely.
