Excellent new ad that puts the blame for the Fannie/Freddie mess where it belongs, at the feet of the Congressional Democrats. McCain's campaign should be running this in all the battleground states, these people are the reason for the mess and even Bill Clinton knows it and isn't afraid to admit it. They need to be voted out of power for the mess they are making with out economy:
Let's us sing a song of praise to the one who is going to spread happiness and freedom:
You know what song came to mind when I saw this video? "Jesus loves the little children." Sadly, the messiah they have put so much hope in that inspired them to sing this song of praise, isn't worth their adoration and is bound to disappoint. No mere mortal can live up to the level of praise in this song. If the song was heartfelt (and not something that their music director made them sing), then I hope they aren't too disappointed when the realty doesn't live up their fantasy and they realize they put their hope in someone who couldn't possibly deliver all they expected him to deliver (can any political leader guarantee happiness?). But since their kids, they'll probably forget about it next year :-)
Drop your cable package and TiVo. Say goodbye to Applebee's and Starbucks. Cancel the ski trip.
Slash every single penny you possibly can from your household budgets and start building up cash.
Yes, I'm serious. The shocking collapse of the rescue package on Capitol Hill threatens a disaster on Main Street. Unless this gets reversed almost immediately, it could turn a slowdown into a slump, and a slump into a depression.
It's hardly possible to make any sensible recommendations about investments or other financial matters until we get a better sense of what will happen next.
Ordinarily in a panic like this I'd be urging people to invest. My usual approach is that the worse people are panicking, the more aggressively you should buy. And that might still be the right thing to do.
But the political and financial situations right now are chaotic.
I think that many of us have been brown bagging it since gas hit $4.00. My daughters used to eat lunch at school five days a week, now they only get hot lunch twice. Who can afford lunch now that gas takes so much of our budget?
From $100,000 to $250,000. McCain proposed the same thing. The only problem is that when the House Republicans suggested this during recent negotiations, the Democrats rejected it. Maybe now that Obama is on board, congressional Democrats might be more open to the idea.
It is always a good idea to remind the voters that Obama is planning to spend billions if elected and couldn't even say what he would cut during the debate:
"After this immediate problem, we've got the long-term fundamentals that will really make sure this economy grows" The RNC notes: Earlier in the same speech: "You see, Senator McCain just doesn't get it - he doesn't get that this crisis...
He says it's a crisis but he hasn't done anything to persuade members to vote for the bailout: Aides to Mr. Obama said he had not directly reached out to try to sway any House Democrats who opposed the measure....
McCain takes on the "experts" who have been dissing Palin:Couric: Gov. Palin, since our last interview, you've gotten a lot of flak. Some Republicans have said you're not prepared; you're not ready for prime-time. People have questioned your readiness since...
"I've been hearing about his senate speeches since I was in, like, second grade. I have to admit though he is a great debater and looks pretty doggone confident like he's sure he's gonna win. But, then again this is...
I bet those who have been predicting that this crisis would happen for years were stopping themselves from jumping up and saying, "Sneak up on us silently? You idiot! We've been predicting this for years. Anyone with half a brain...
Waters made that clueless comment during a hearing in 2004 and yes, that's the same Frank Raines who cooked the books so that he could receive huge bonuses and who is an advisor to the Obama campaign. Here's a video...
According to this report Obama called McCain, "John" to needle him into losing his temper. It didn't work and it just made Obama look disrespectful and arrogant: Sen. Barack Obama and his debate prep team were surprised that Sen. John...
Why in the world would Biden need so much time to prepare for a debate with a "bucket of fluff?" Following a rally in Detroit with Barack Obama Sunday afternoon, Joe Biden will return home to Wilmington, Delaware to prepare...
Check out this new Obama ad, is the pure shock of seeing a victorious John McCain meant to send Obama voters to the poll in fear? How does this ad persuade undecideds? (via)...
He wouldn't allow signs at his rally for "security" reasons but the Secret Service said they do not have a problem with signs: NOT ALL COUNTRIES guarantee their citizens the right to virtually unbridled freedom of speech. The United States...
So, here's a question: Obama is up by 6 in Michigan according to the RCP average yet he's campaigning in Detroit a month before the election, why? Barack Obama was to move his campaign to the industrial Midwest Sunday as...
I'm sure by now you've read about Obama's attempt to stifle political speech when he disagrees with it and now he's attempting to use the state to do it for him in Missouri. Governor Blunt of Missouri responds: "St. Louis...
For those who don't get it, our current economic meltdown explained in 10 minutes. I found it helpful to see how the prices of homes shot up after Bill Clinton changed the Community Reinvestment Act, it makes sense that providing...
Not only did he sound like a child but he couldn't even remember the name on the bracelet. If it were McCain who said it, they wouldn't stop playing the clip on the news shows and his age would have...
He's for coal and then he's against it. He's against guns and now he'll stop Obama if he tries to take his guns. Why should we believe what he says about the bailout? "We had a deal this morning, it...
By this nerdy looking robot, they are more dangerous than they appear (as anyone who watches The Terminator knows for a fact). They want to fool us into thinking they're harmless by making it look like a dork, but I'm...
Since he got the call from the president that he's needed, I guess he had no choice but to do the job that the Illinois voters elected him to do: Obama, who has been campaigning in Florida, said he agreed...
Yes, it's her looks. Of course it's sexist but what do you expect?"And how does one keep looking that good when one is that busy?," Rehman asked, drawing friendly laughter from the room when she complimented Palin. "Oh, thank you,"...
As usual the Democrats in Congress are playing politics instead of trying to get something passed. They did it with Iraq and drilling and now they can't pass up the opportunity to make political hay long enough to fix the...
McCain gives Obama a gift, come to Washington and work in a bi-partisan manner to make sure that something is done about the bailout -- something both sides believe should be done. And Obama passes on the opportunity. Amazing! He...
Someone had to respond and McCain wasn't going to do it. It's nice that it came from another wounded vet. I bet the vets don't appreciate Obama beating up one of their own especially since it's the result of being...
Isn't it a little early for his picture to be on money? Talk about presumptuous! A company in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter is making commemorative coins for American presidential hopeful Barack Obama. And if the Democratic candidate is elected to become...
I would think that's a good thing :-) Biden speaking to a group of lawyers tells them that their help will be needed to ensure that the Republicans don't steal another election. They plan to mobilize thousands of lawyers. I...
What happened to the "hard-coal miner" who was happy to be back in coal country? What's amazing about this is that Obama's campaign actually supports clean coal and now Biden has opened the door for McCain to use the issue...
O.M.H! Two gaffes for the price of one! I knew that he would be a gaffe machine when he joined the campaign but I can't believe how much of one he's become. Transcript here....
OK, so I'm reading this article and I was stunned to learn that Obama had 11 campaign offices in North Dakota! North Dakota which only has 3 electoral votes. He had 50 staffers in North Dakota!! What the heck was...
He really needs an ad mentioning the fact that he predicted the current crises but "Obama and his liberal allies" opposed it (one with a giant picture of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd). But this one isn't too bad, it...
Well, not at the University of Massachusetts. Evidently it violates school policy and state ethics laws. I guess Obama volunteers will have to do work out of love and not credit. University of Massachusetts officials yesterday quashed efforts by an...
Biden attempting to be his own man and criticize the Obama campaign for their McCain ad: Evidently he didn't agree with the Obama campaign making fun of the handicapped: Couric: And you guys haven't been completely guilt-free, making fun of...
Here on my blog! How cool is that? I haven't watched it yet because I'm watching the premier of Heroes (which is really good) but as soon as it's done, I'm watching!...
Well, his campaign warned that they would be doing it since Obama went there, and here it is, the Chicago machine: Finally hitting him with Rezko, though they should have mentioned he was a slumlord. I hope they do more...
Whoa! The NRA isn't fooling around, they are seriously hitting Obama on his voting record in their new ad campaign that's running in PA and probably other battle ground states: Did you know that he voted to tax ammunition and...
If the socialists get their way: The wait to see primary care doctors in Massachusetts has grown to as long as 100 days, while the number of practices accepting new patients has dipped in the past four years, with care...
What a great idea! That should cut down on the number of companies participating. BTW, I see nothing wrong with the government setting terms for participation. If you take taxpayer's money, then lawmakers have every right to set the terms."I...
The gift that keeps on giving! This from a guy who has an "F" rating from the NRA. Yeah, he's believable. "I guarantee you Barack Obama ain't taking my shotguns, so don't buy that malarkey," Biden said Saturday at the...
Obama lies in the following ad: Let's look at all the lies: "Obama's always supported medical care to protect infants." He wants to rewrite history but here he is in his own words (the video also contains exactly how Obama...
I love Pete King's comment that Rangel is just another liberal Democrat who can't stand a strong woman on the ticket (and yeah, I know he was a Hillary supporter -- it's still funny :-) It shows the sensitivity that...
Listen for the wail of the MSM as they lament such a partisan and unfair attack, but Obama only has himself to blame for it because he opened the door by linking McCain to Limbaugh and (taking Limbaugh out of...
Here's a report about McCain's response to the bailout mess which McCain saw coming. What's funny about this report is that Obama hasn't laid out the details of a plan but accuses McCain of stealing it :-) And btw, the...
I'm sure you've probably seen that a group of blacks help up signs during Obama's speech yesterday. Evidently, they are part of some wacky group that believes that Oprah is Satan and Obama is the beast of Revelation. But if...
And he's speaking as an expert, right? He knows quite bit about "disgrace" and "humiliation" having slept with the 17 year-old daughter of his girl friend. Sorry but you don't have the moral high ground to be pointing a finger...
Obama is sending out his Christian surrogates to explain his view on abortion and poverty. I doubt they'll mention the infanticide part of his abortion policy:Barack Obama's campaign enlisted evangelical author Donald Miller on a tour through battleground states called...
Evidently it's hitting NY pretty hard which isn't surprising since it's the liberal capital of the world. As I was reading this article I realized how conditioned these women are by society and just how misogynist they really are. They...
On the Larry King Show:Donald Trump, the flamboyant New York magnate, said on CNN's "Larry King Live" on Wednesday night that he is supporting Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) for president. Trump, never shy with his opinions, went on to say...

So, in an effort to be helpful and make sure you are ready to give a defense for the hope that is within you and are prepared for the reaction of "getting in the face" of Republicans, I thought I...
Clinton was smart to avoid this kind of sexist drivel: Michelle Obama asked voters Thursday to make their choice on the issues, not because, "I like that guy" or, "she's cute." How dismissive and sexist! Following in sweetie's footsteps I...
More of these please! I hope they play it in all the key states. Hit him where he's most vulnerable: big government spending and taxes in a time of economic uncertainty. We are billions of dollars in the hole and...
Oh.My.Heck! Biden is a gift that keeps on giving, isn't he? I just love that he shows us the heart of the Democrat party. The party thinks you should foot their pork barrel spending because it's "patriotic." It's your rut,...
This is the interview I was looking for when I got distracted by the Campbell Brown interview. Blitzer doesn't let her get too many points out but she does make a case for why she isn't worried about the abortion...
I just watched one of the interviews that Lynn Forester de Rothschild gave about her switch to McCain and I have to say I was wrong about her reason for switching. She really does have a problem with Obama and...
Man! Talk about sleazy! Leave it to the left to do something this heinous.I'm looking forward to the perp walk:"We are aware of the allegations and we are coordinating with Secret Service as far as the allegation that someone has...
What a waste of a leadership position! This from the same guy who pronounced defeat in Iraq. Maybe voters should relieve him of his position and put someone else in who knows what to do:"No one knows what to do....
Wow! All you people who have been saying that McCain-Palin won't attract Hillary supporters (that includes me, btw :-) because of the abortion issue might want to take a look at this: Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a prominent Hillary Clinton...
I guess this should take care of that hoop:Sarah Palin will meet with foreign leaders next week at the United Nations, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday, citing an unnamed strategist with John McCain's campaign.Any other hoops she'll have to...
This reminded me of the SNL skit. Clinton didn't know that Palin was going to be there and learned about it from reporters:Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has canceled an appearance at a New York rally next week after organizers blindsided...
You know, I think Biden might be on to something here, right wing bloggers aren't used to really smart Democrats, just elitist Democrats. You can view the "intelligent choice" of Barack Obama making his observation here and while you're at...
Evidently gang members are wearing religious jewelry: "I went to school, walked through the metal detectors and they told me to take it off," the teen said. "I asked them why and they said because it's gang-related."Her mom had given...
I'm looking forward to The Biggest Loser which premiers tonight. It's annoying that it's up against Fringe but since Samantha loves to watch it, my husband and I will have to watch it on Hulu. Here's a preview episode I...
So, is that all we're getting, enough for a toaster? They're going to take away all the Bush tax cuts and give me enough for a toaster? Gee, thanks! With the Bush tax cut I was able to afford a...
Here's an interview with Senator Lisa Murkowski who is the daughter of the governor that Palin beat. I bet he wished that he didn't underestimate Palin. Those of you who are laughing off her candidacy might want to keep in...
A campaign ad from Dukakis: It's amazing how the Democrat playbook hasn't changed in all these years. Still trying to make the case that they're for the little guy while the Republicans are for the rich. We didn't buy it...
It seems like the folks in Hollywood are afraid that they will be getting yet another Republican for president. All their attempts at propaganda aren't enough, they really can't control the voting public so all they are left with is...
Obama's infanticide vote (the Born Alive Infant Protection Act) is coming back to haunt him: If a baby doesn't have human rights outside the womb, when does it have rights? I wonder if that's above Obama's pay grade?...
Shocking! Though, it turns out she paid for it with her own money. But that hasn't stopped the criticism: The news of Palin's luxurious purchase -- beds can cost as much as $35,000 -- presents a sharp contrast to the...
He really is the king of the negative ads and Freudian slips:"If we're going to ask questions about, you know, who has been promulgating negative ads that are completely unrelated to the issues at hand, I think I win that...
I was wondering when someone would get it that running against Bush and tying McCain to him isn't such a good strategy when the nation is tired of the partisan bickering. Obama was supposed to be post-partisan but now he...
Pretty funny and Fey nails Palin's accent and looks (do I really need a content warning? This is SNL so you have to expect it to be crude): But the content is the usual elitist drivel you'd expect from the...
The Palin effect in Nevada:Until Saturday afternoon, Yerington resident Laura Tracy never had attended a political rally in her life. But she had a hard time controlling her emotions and her political sign when she and 5,000 others pushed into...
It seems that Obama has been shortchanging his female Senate staffers :Obama's 28 male staffers divided among themselves total payroll expenditures of $1,523,120. Thus, Obama's average male employee earned $54,397. Obama's 30 female employees split $1,354,580 among themselves, or $45,152,...
Um...not the most hard hitting ad I've ever seen. Oh look McCain is old, he's like your grandfather who can't use email or the computer. *Yawn* (via) Let's hope that is stupid enough to use email if he is elected...
That's the claim of some but it appears that Gibson is the one who got it wrong. Here's Gibson's explanation of the Bush Doctrine: GIBSON: Do you agree with the Bush doctrine? PALIN: In what respect, Charlie? GIBSON: The Bush...
Didn't he predict that his wife was going to win? Given this guy's track record, I wouldn't bet the farm on this prediction. Could these guys look any less comfortable with each other? Isn't this whole thing a sign of...
Oh-Uh! Do you think that they are starting to wish they had listened to Hillary? Polls showing John McCain tied or even ahead of Barack Obama are stirring angst and second-guessing among some of the Democratic Party's most experienced operatives,...
Plagiarism! Jesus wasn't a community organizer! He didn't agitate the crowds to action, he didn't encourage them to engage their government to improve their life. He died on the cross for their sins to save them from the wrath of...
He sounds like a grumpy old man:And how can you be her age and never have gone to Europe? ... Sarah Palin's travel record is that of a hopeless provincial. ... Palin is a shallow, chirpy person with those vaguely...
Wow! The gaffe machine came through again! And he's right, she is more qualified than he is. Obama made a huge mistake not picking Clinton and I bet he is coming to realize that fact:Make no mistake about this, Hillary...
Evidently he thinks he'll control the questions:"I'm not into the small bore stuff. I don't care whether or not she built a bridge to nowhere. I don't care if she sold a plane," Biden said at the first event. "What...
So take that Joe Biden! Paglia was quite struck by Palin and was shocked that McCain would make such a bold pick. She had thought that the election was over after Obama's speech: After that extravaganza, marking the 40th anniversary...
That seems to be the implications of this: But what of the rest of the world? This is the reaction I fear most. For Obama has stirred an excitement around the globe unmatched by any American politician in living memory....
It is absolutely clear that Obama meant this as a hit against Sarah Palin (listen to the way the audience laughed, they got it). He's angry that a chick is cleaning his clock and so he is pushing back in...
I bet the House Democrats got all kinds of flack from their constituents over drilling and decided to try to take the issue off the table and get as much out of it as possible: House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer...
So much for the inexperienced meme! She beats the experienced one on the Democrat ticket 53 to 44 :-) And even has her own action figure! I guess it's clear to see that McCain's pick actually brought something to the...
According to Cohen Palin and Giuliani took Obama's strength as a community organizer and maligned it (that's the left's redefinition of Swift-boating). Cohen makes a valiant effort to demonstrate that being a community organizer is just as noble as being...
So much for the meme that McCain will keep Palin under wraps and not let her do any interviews until the VP debates fearing that she'll not be able to answer if someone asks her how she'll prop up the...
Are all "community organizers" black? Shame on Stephanopoulos for turning Palin's comments into a racial attack! And kudos to Obama for not taking the bait. GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: It's pretty clear they didn't think too much of your early career as...
Wow! McCain got a pretty decent convention bump (or Palin bump :-). Obama's convention was was 6% but McCain's was 10% and puts him well over the 50% mark (for likely voters): McCain-Palin soared right past the fifty-percent mark and...
And ties in Obama's change theme and contrasts that to the liberals in the Senate. It's not much of a change for Obama to raise taxes or to continue the policy of no offshore drilling. It's really more of the...
Racism rears it's ugly head among Democrats in Philadelphia. Obama's campaign struggles to earn the support of their union workers:Asked what the problem is with Obama, McAleer paused and said: "It's his color . . . I tell them he's...
I thought that Dole's campaign ad was pretty funny, using a yipping dog to represent the lies of her opponent. Maybe McCain-Palin should use it to represent the attacks of the MSM :-) (via)...
But without the messianic subtext :-) McCain is starting to get Obama sized crowds :-)Beginning with her announcement last Friday in Dayton, Ohio, McCain has drawn more enthusiasm and packed in more people to his events than at any time...
Oh those poor journalists, just doing their job :-) Well, the crowd certainly didn't think so: Hundreds of angry people in this small town outside Milwaukee taunted reporters and TV crews traveling with Sen. John McCain on Friday, chanting "Be...
Here's a SurveyUSA poll taken after McCain's speech. 45% gave him an A, not bad. I would have given it a C so these people are pretty generous! I thought it was pretty interesting that McCain leads on most of...
Do you think that the MSM will finally get it that they seriously overplayed their hand with Palin? It's looks like Quinn may have started to get a clue: (via)...
The Republicans beat the Democrats in viewership! The Republican convention was the most-watched convention on television ever, beating a standard set by the Democrats a week earlier. Three times in two weeks, political speeches were watched by more people than the...
A lot of them! Around 5,000. The editors thought that the MSM would be able to take down Palin before she even accepted the nomination. They were wrong:"When Us went to print Monday night, it looked like the ticket was...
I think that's the best line of the night during McCain's speech. He said it while protesters were removed from the convention (why is it that Obama can give a speech without protesters but the Republicans can't -- he's pro-war...
The magazine that brought you the "BABIES, LIES AND SCANDAL" cover has a poll up about Palin asking whether she'll be a good vice president. It's currently running 76 to 23 in favor of Palin....
Only 1 million less than Obama and she was on four less channels. Pretty good for our vice presidential candidate, 13 million more viewers than Biden :-) And Hillary only had 25 million viewers. Here's the video of Palin's story...
Um...except for McCain, Bush, most of the Congressional Republicans and of course Petraeus: The troop surge in Iraq has been more successful than anyone could have imagined, Barack Obama conceded Thursday in his first-ever interview on FOX News' "The O'Reilly...
I think you can sum it up as: politics as usual, nothing to see here (in other words, dismissive)."She is deft at going on the attack. For someone who makes the point that she is not from Washington, she looks...
Wouldn't want him to contradict Obama's position would we?Barack Obama didn't take running mate Joe Biden to the woodshed for his remarks Monday on offshore drilling, which broke from Obama's strong reservations to it. But Biden on Wednesday nonetheless offered...
No, not the ones from conservatives, the ones from the MSM! Mark Halperin gave it an A+ and Tom Shales (yeah, I was shocked too) thought she did pretty good job (though he threw in a couple whoppers):If the Republicans...
During her mom's speech. This had to be the cutest part of the speech last night. She may have out cuted the Obama kids (though they are quite cute all on their own without doing anything :-)...
Here's a very insightful reaction to the Palin speech last night: It was that good. No, she's not qualified, and the substance was thin, but my God -- that was perhaps the greatest bit of political theatre I have ever...
She knocked it out of the park! She was as good as I thought she was going to be. She's an effective advocate for McCain and she served notice on the MSM that she didn't really care about their opinion....
That's an excerpt from Palin's speech. It sounds like it's going to be quite interesting, don't you think? I'm certainly looking forward to it. Here's another quote: "Here's how I look at the choice Americans face in this election. In...
They've released a statement concerning the controversy over their vetting process:"Gov. Sarah Palin is an exceptional governor with a record of accomplishment that exceeds, by far, the governing accomplishments of Sen. Obama. Her selection came after a six-month long rigorous...
And are fighting back! Good for them. The MSM is so overplaying this that there is going to be a very strong backlash. Just image if an incident in your family was covered in the same way, would you be...
I bet Obama doesn't have that experience :-) In case you missed Thompson last night, here's the video of his speech: I watched the coverage by the networks again and I was underwhelmed to say the lest. During the Democratic...
A Campaign Spot reader noted that though Obama selected his running mate almost a week earlier, he still doesn't have any Obama-Biden merchandise for sale but McCain has plenty of McCain-Palin merchandise already. What's up with that? What about the...
Even though this column comes after a successful roll out of the announcement of the Palin pick, Cohen sees it as McCain's attempt to make his party look foolish:John McCain's selection of Palin, which I first viewed with horror, could...
Talk about resume padding! He compares his experience running a campaign (which, btw should come as a surprise to his campaign manager) with her experience as mayor and totally ignores her experience as governor and Cooper lets him get away...
These are the answers that they rehearse with the candidate so he doesn't sound like an idiot: Sen. Barack Obama's pitch perfect response regarding the announcement of an impending birth in the Palin family ("my mother had me when she...
So, I wonder if the McCain campaign people are pleased that Bush is making the effort to speak at the convention :-) After skipping the opening day of the Republican National Convention to personally check the emergency response to Hurricane...
Do you think Obama knows?"I will be back, I'll be back to campaign in earnest," Biden said, "but today is not the moment for me to campaign. Today is the moment for me as a United States senator running for...
Palin really was pregnant. That The Huffington Post actually called the reporter to confirm demonstrates just how over the edge the left side of the blogosphere is. I would think the fact that Palin's daughter is going to give birth...
And Palin didn't even try to hide the fact with a pregnancy suit! Imagine that. The Daily Kos bloggers swerved into something, didn't they? Too bad they were a year off. Here's her statement: "We have been blessed with five...
New Rasmussen poll that asks which candidate do you most want to meet and guess who was number 1? Obama of course! 43% want to meet Obama, 30% want to meet Palin and only 17% want to meet McCain (*snicker*)....
But she could be wearing a pregnancy suit. Yesterday I linked to this story about the Daily Kos floating a rumor that Palin's son is actually her grandson. They posted pictures of her oldest daughter with a slight bump but...
Wow! Coming from someone as brilliant and insightful as Paglia, Palin must be pretty happy with this quote (especially she's been dissed by the Democrats and the MSM):"We may be seeing the first woman president. As a Democrat, I am...
I think this statement makes it clear that the Democrats will not do anything if Iran acquires a nuclear weapon: "Israel will have to reconcile itself with the nuclearization of Iran," Army Radio quoted Biden as telling the unnamed officials....
She's better looking according to Joe Biden:"From our perspective the whole deal is how does the government help you get back up without getting in the way?" Biden asked. "There's a gigantic - gigantic -- difference between John McCain and...
According to Eleanor Clift there was laughter in many newsrooms because the elites in the MSM didn't consider Palin a serious choice. Oh, is this the same media who cheered when Obama accepted the Democratic nomination? The media that blathers...
