Freedom!

posted by Ruth Graham

We celebrate our freedom this week with all sorts of travel, family time, picnics, fireworks and all manner of festivities. Have a safe and wonderful time.

Our freedom is not free. It was bought with blood. We dare not take it for granted.

We are free far more than just nationally. We are free spiritually because of the blood of Jesus. We can be free from the masks we wear, the pretense we carry, the trying to be good enough, from the shame and guilt. Jesus has set us free! Now that is something to celebrate not just this week but every week of the year.

Why the tornado?
The scenes from Oklahoma are beyond imagination. It is hard to take it all in. The massive storm, the fear of those fleeing its path, the destruction left behind, the loss of life, the heartache. How does one even begin? I would imagine you'd just want to sit down and quit. Give up. But from what I

Absolutely. What would you die for?
Recently I heard a politician tell his audience that he would make sure a certain bill was put forward because of the emotional wear and tear on victims of violence. He got applause. Suicide
I didn't wake up today thinking my life would change. But it has. Suicide. The word is so cold and ugly. It is so stark and final. And yet it leaves so much behind. Unanswered questions. Unfinished business. Unspeakable grief. The word means "the intentional taking of one's own life". Intentio

best places to elope

posted July 23, 2012 at 3:53 am

If you don’t want to spend a fortune on a large, elaborate wedding then you probably are considering eloping. If this is the case, then finding the best places to elope should be on your agenda. You want to make this task as stress-free as possible so that it will be something that you truly look forward to. You want to keep all the “fuss” to a minimum and find something that is romantic but at the same time affordable.
