Another year. But what did I do with the last one? Will this one be as difficult? Am I destined to be on this treadmill forever? Everyone is in a festive mood. But me. They are excited about a new [...]
“Transparent” is the word most people use to describe Ruth Graham.
No stranger to heartache, she seeks to provide a Biblical perspective to her journey of faith. She is warm and talks openly about her own need for a safe place as she journeyed through her husband’s infidelities, her subsequent depression, her divorces, her teenage daughter’s two unplanned pregnancies, another daughter’s bulimia, her son’s battle with drugs, and returning to school at age 40.
Although born into the "famous" Graham family Ruth did not feel she had a safe place to unburden the secrets of her life. She felt she had to project and image and wear a mask that she "had it all together". She had to meet others' expectations of her. It was not until a mid-life crisis did that she fully discover the unconditional love and grace of God. Her life's passion is to connect people to that same grace and love she found, no matter who they are or what sin.
Named for her mother, Ruth is the third child of Rev. Billy Graham and his wife Ruth Bell Graham.
Ruth founded the Ruth Graham & Friends Ministry in 2006 and in 2010, The Transparent Church. She seeks to minister God’s grace and restoration to those who feel marginalized within the church and to better equip churches themselves to address the needs of the hurting in their midst.
Ruth is an experienced conference speaker and Bible teacher. She has appeared on a variety of radio and television shows including: Good Morning, America, The Hour of Power, Focus on the Family, Moody Broadcasting, Fox & Friends, CBN, Life Today and CNN.
She worked in publishing for 13 years as an acquisitions editor and for five years was the Donor Relations Coordinator for Samaritan’s Purse. She worked as Major Gifts Officer at Mary Baldwin College. She graduated cum laude from Mary Baldwin College in 2000 and received the college’s Outstanding Adult Student award. She also has an honorary doctorate of Humane Letters from Eastern University.
Ruth has three grown children and eight grandchildren. She lives in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her life Bible verse is John 1:16.

Christmas is here! We have shopped, bought, wrapped… the “perfect” present for each one on our list. Did I over spend? Did I forget someone? What have I overlooked? What about the birthday Boy? Have I overlooked Him? Each year [...]
It had been a long 400 years of silence. Malachi had been the last “official” word from God. Now the silence was deafening. Life went on but where was God? Did He care? Did He leave them? Did He forget [...]
I don’t think any of us can get the school shootings out of our minds. The images haunt us. The news bombards us with speculation then finally facts make their way into the news. The analysts try to come up [...]
