Friendship Ministry Leadership team in Orlando

This is horribly short notice but I just received it myself.  I wish I could attend a day with Nella Uitvlugt on January 14 at Northland Church; but Saturdays are out for me because of my Special Gathering program in Vero.  This email is from Lauralee Wright of Northland Church in Orlando (Longwood), FL.

Many of you are aware that the Children’s Pastor’s Conference is in Orlando, FL next week. With that, we have a few folks who will be presenting on Special Needs Ministries and the need for inclusion on January 14 at Northland Church in Longwood, FL.

One of the folks who will be in town is Nella Uitvlugt, Executive Director of Friendship Ministries in Grand Rapids Mi.  Nella and her crew have over the years developed some great materials for teens and adults who have intellectual disabilities as well as a model for doing what is called Friendship Club. Friendship Ministries is a not-for-profit organization that exists to help churches and organizations around the world share God’s love with people who have intellectual disabilities. Nella has made time in her schedule to meet with us to talk about the aspects of ministering to this group of people who want and need a Savior just like the rest of us!

We will meet at Northland Church, 530 Dog Track RD, Longwood, FL. At 9 AM on Saturday, January, 14! We will be in the main Worship Center, someone will be downstairs to greet you and guide you to the room which most likely will be 4210. Please pass this on to other churches and other agencies who may be interested in attending. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to lauralee.wright@northlandchurch.net.
I look forward to seeing many of you on January 14!

Wiggle Room--Going Together
Within every ministry or business, there is wiggle room.  Before we examine “the how” for learning about and becoming comfortable within your ministry’s culture, there are several things where there can be no wiggle room. Jesus’ disciples knew that he was not only their leader.  He was

Learning that God is just

Working or stay-at-home, she's still my mom
For more than 20 years, I was a stay-at-home mom.  During those years, I wrote five books.  Two of them were best sellers.  Together they sold over a million copies.  I was an award-winning, free-lance writer working with several different magazines.  Additionally, I was the room mother for my

Wiggle room
Several years ago, as a few staff from Special Gathering were driving to lunch, we saw a man with a broken leg.  His cast extended from his toe to his hip.  With great difficulty, he was loading a lawnmower into a trailer.  There was a edger on the sidewalk, patiently waiting to be reloaded on to

I’m not sure but I’ll check with Northland and see. I’ll get back with you. Great question. If I know them, they are set up for that.

So glad to see this subject addressed. “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7
