Founding Faith Archive

Thursday February 28, 2008

Those of you who got sneak-peek copies of my book, Founding Faith, may have seen the note on the inside cover that Beliefnet will be hosting an exciting area collecting the most interesting and important writings from the Founding Fathers about religion. (www.beliefnet.com/foundingfaith). In case you're wondering where it is, it's coming soon. (The book hits the stores March 11 but of course is available for pre-order at Amazon and BarnesandNoble.com).

It's going to be quite a fascinating area. One bit to whet your appetite: it will include an interactive version of the Jefferson Bible, including the full "Life and Morals of Jesus" that Jefferson cobbled together and the parts Jefferson deleted from the Bible. Jefferson believed that the true wisdom of Jesus had been obscured and that he needed to remove the "diamonds" from the "dunghill."
