Tuesday July 1, 2008

Obama's speech is putting feet to his faith in the American people. He is right in saying that Bush did not deliver on his promises and I hope that Obama can make good on his. His track record in Chicago shows me that he has seen it work before and I believe that it is possible for the White House, Congress and the Faith Based groups of America to work together. I'm just not so sure that the Evangelicals can do it with out trying to tie the hands of the State by demanding the right to recruit memberships out of the masses instead of just helping the masses. Many groups use their programs as extortion instead of serving the community. I'll give you a loaf of bread if you join our church attitude and if the government won't help them do it, they scream that they are being persecuted against.

==He is right in saying that Bush did not deliver on his promises and I hope that Obama can make good on his. ==

Bbbbbbbut we thought, having been hammered with it, that such initiatives are a violation of the alleged "separation of Church and State." Now, all of a sudden, they are not, just cuz NObama wants them??

Which is it?

Qaddafi knows one when he sees one, and he says that Obama is a Muslim:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZiqexz7aqQ&feature=related

It takes one to know one, no?

Obama's father is a Muslim, no?

In Islam, if your father is Muslim, aren't YOU a Muslim?

When did Obama convert?

And, what happens, in Islam, to apostates???

Takes one to know one? I agree. I am a Christian and Obama certainly is a Christian. You trust Gaddafi to label someone?

==I am a Christian and Obama certainly is a Christian.==

However, NObama's father is Muslim. In Islam, that makes NObama Muslim.

== You trust Gaddafi to label someone? ==

He's a Muslim. He says NObama's a Muslim cuz NObama's father is a Muslim. How can I dispute that?

Could you be more specific. Address specific arguments.

I'M A CHRISTIAN BUT PLEASE WAT DOES IT MATTER IF OBAMA'S A CHRISTIAN OR NOT? TALK ABOUT DISCRIMINATION! IF THE GUY SAYS HE'S A CHRISTIAN THEN HE IS! U THINK HE HAS AN ULTERIOR MOTIVE FOR CLAIMING HE IS A CHRISTIAN WHEN HE ISN'T? WHAT IF HE IS A MUSLIM? IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT?.... IT'S AMERICA FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE AND IT'S FOR EVERYONE!

==WAT DOES IT MATTER IF OBAMA'S A CHRISTIAN OR NOT?==

You don't know???? My goodness.

==IF THE GUY SAYS HE'S A CHRISTIAN THEN HE IS! ==

If a man tells a woman, "I love you," he does. How many women believe that?

==U THINK HE HAS AN ULTERIOR MOTIVE FOR CLAIMING HE IS A CHRISTIAN...==

Yes.

His father is Muslim. That means that he is Muslim. That's Islam.

== WHAT IF HE IS A MUSLIM?==

Then, he's a liar.

== IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT?==

Not if he admits that he is. However, he's claiming to be what he can't be, and his claim came only after he was exposed.

==IT'S AMERICA FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE AND IT'S FOR EVERYONE!==

Even terrorists??

Mr. I - I see you're assailing people on this article too. You're fascinating. I'm curious to know what your objective is or what you think you're accomplishing. And I don't mean that in a confrontational way. I'm curious, more out of a human behavior standpoint.

I do not trust Obama. He has lied, I believe. Is this the man we want as President. God Help us if he wins.

==I see you're assailing...==

A rather strong word for it. I could say the same thing about you and others' posts.

==...people on this article too.==

An example of my "assailing"?

==You're fascinating.==

You mean that you're fascinated by the fact that I post and that I'm not afraid to post and that I'm confident.

I'm not surprised that people try to turn that into something else more sinister. Far too many people demonize what they don't understand. That's cuz they're afraid.

== I'm curious to know what your objective is...==

The same as anybody who posts. Gee, I guess it's not as obvious to some as one would think.

==... or what you think you're accomplishing.==

What do YOU think YOU are accomplishing when YOU post?

== And I don't mean that in a confrontational way.==

Of course not. Neither do I.

== I'm curious, more out of a human behavior standpoint.==

Well, I see an article. You with me so far?

Then, I notice that there's an opportunity to post comments about it and other posts.

I read the article and the posts, and I notice that something sticks in my craw and that I gots and urge to say sumpin about it. So's, I set out to assemble, in my mind, what I know.

Then, I post that, share what I know about it.

Gee, that sounds like what everybody else do!

AMEN, bra!

On the other hand, let not your heart be troubled, for these things must happen before He comes:

(1Pe 3:14) But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled...

And, so, signs that He comes soon. Are YOU ready, confident in His Judgment?

Soooo, there aren't enough electrons to accommodate all of us??? Am I taking up too many?? More than my share???

They said that about Moses, Noah and Jesus. I'm in Good company, as is anybody who holds the Truth in Righteousness.

Torquemada was fascinating too, but I wouldn't put him in the same boat at Moses, Noah and Jesus.

Nevertheless, what you say about me is the same things they said abut Jesus, et al.

Mr. Incredible,

Have you ever heard of the principle of Hermeneutic Equity? It's the idea that out of love and acceptance (Christ-like qualities), you afford your mind and heart to the person who is speaking (in this case, Obama) in order to truly garner what it is he or she is actually saying. Interpreting a speech according to your preconceived bias is not "listening" and your comments towards other users on here have clearly not been born out of a heart of love. If you truly desire to influence people towards good, stop being an intellectual intimidator and learn to listen with a heart of compassion. As a follower of Christ, I'm sure you're not above this.
